There truly is no car that is not as good as another! I HAD a forester turbo and have been beat by less powerful and more powerful cars. It is mainly a driving event not a car event. Especially if it is muddy!!!!
I agree up to a point. But for example - if Mark Hoerath's WRX/JDM machine hadn't blown a bead at the last event, none of us could have caught him. We were close in the mud, but not in the dry. With his power, limited slip diffs front and rear, and an adjustable center diff, it definitely makes a difference. Same goes for if you spend significant money on high-end aftermarket struts. (I am NOT saying in this case he should be in another class, just giving example of a really good car)
Other example - I don't think there is a *stock*-ish RWD car that could beat the FWDs in xU2 or xO2. And the same with any near-stock SUV or truck in the x04 class vs the AWD cars. Having a separate class for these guys *might* encourage them to attend.
The other one - limited-slip or locked front diffs in SU2. When's the last time one of them hasn't won? Granted, they are very good drivers

, but when is the last time someone like the Guthries have beaten them? Someone mentioned that we need more SU2 entries. What can you enter so that you'll have a chance to beat an SER? Maybe some other FWD car with an aftermarket front LSD.
I'm not ragging on anyone, and I'm not trying to complain about capable cars. It's just that I know it's fun to win sometimes, and with certain vehicles, there is little chance. *I have personally* tried to convince people to attend, but they won't because they feel they have no chance of winning. I guess it's no fun if they don't think there's even a chance to win in their vehicle.
