What's the surface like out there? Compared to Four Oaks which is the only place I've ever been for this before.

I'm not sure what I'm driving.
Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

night and day.

haha.

its not bad at all. it can be as dry as four oaks.. but when its rains or gets wet. its slippery. def. not as many bumps/jumps as four oaks.
and it can get fast too from straits, so remember to slow down.

in the dry, a lil rough not too bad.. and reallllllly fast. fast fast..

in the wet: slicker than george bush senior's hair.
fun though.. not a real car breaker like some of our previous sites.. lotsa fun.. rocks are a problem as are trees, so do pay attention... but overall it is a absolute rush! :P

Pete and I are still planning to chair the event. We may have to set up on Friday afternoon late. The sun stays up pretty late in August. Is it possible for us to move the bus to OCS on Thursday so that Friday isn't so hectic?
Please PM me the name and contact information for the track and I'll check on the mowing situation.

Thanks for chairing the event! I really hope this event isn't canceled, as I've spent all my disposable income on KYB struts, new tires, and a stiffer rear sway bar for the family wagon, a 2000 Forester with automatic transmission :-)

Rationalizations:
1. The struts were shot anyway and unsafe even for daily driving.
2. The tires had 60,000 miles on them and had dry rot to boot.
3. Got nothing on the sway bar, but I'm working on it.

On top of that, I'm bringing a novice friend along in an attempt to boost the attendance numbers.

You're making it sound like so much fun, but I guess I'm not allowed to drive Michael's car since I told him he couldn't autocross mine. At least his car will be safe to drive, thanks to generous advice from the club (Kevin). Maybe I'll bring a camera and document how safe and easy it is on the cars..... Brice, don't you have a perfectly drivable Mini in your garage?

Out of 30 competitors signed up so far, 4 of them are driving Foresters, so now I don't feel so bad driving a slow, heavy, ugly family car.

If we were still running our smoke-machine 89 Subaru Loyale wagon, we could make you feel good about your car. :)

OK gang, we are on for tomorrow.

It will be wet. The parts you want to be fast will seem slow, the parts where you want to slow down will seem really fast. It is really wet.

Gates open at 7:30
Tech 8:30 - 9:30
Registration is from 9:00 - 9:30

See you there!
