Richard,

The grass def. needs to be cut. Chris mentioned bringing out 1 or 2 weedwackers. and we even talked about bringing a mower, but didnt know if anyone would want to bring it.

honestly, if its absolutely not out of your way, we it would be awesome to have it there and to at least get some site lines cut so folks can see the cones.

thanks in advance if you can bring it.

Do I need to bring my lawnmower? It's just a Craftsman riding mower, nothing special. But I can bring it to help with the grass if needed. Let me know before tomorrow morning, and I'll try to fit it on the trailer with the Audi - it should fit.

For the next OCS event, *if I know in advance*, I can tow my tractor out there ahead of time and bush-hog it.

Richard,
If you can get the mower there, that might help.

Thanks
Chris

I'll do my best. I think I can fit it on the trailer sideways in front of the car. See you tomorrow! :)

What fun. the surface in the afternoon, was perfect. the car ran flawlessly, no problems with tires.. great day. it hurts that i had a DNF, i could have trophied really. oh well, thats racing. ahhaha.good fun. Quattrohaus does great things with audis. The morning, was certainly a slow and steady wins the race day. My father did some great flick flacks in the mud, i just slowed down and turned right, as far as the crossover was concerned. The sweeper, now that was fun. I waited for the second puddle, then let off the accel pedal.. and let the car turn in, and got it.. that was fun.

Thanks for all the hard work. The mowing and weed eating really helped.

I had a great time on my first visit to OCS. Can't wait til the next one. Wish I didn't have to work so I could have stayed and done fun runs. maybe then i wouldn't have pulled off the road to check what i thought was a weird noise from one of the wheels and driven into a ditch!! The grass had just been cut and was hiding a 2 foot ditch filled with mud. had to get AAA to pull me out. Thanks to all those who pulled over and offered to help and didn;t burst out laughing (at least not in front of me)!!

Does anyone know where I can get some of the pictures that people took? I forgot my Camera and don't have any good photos with the new wing.

Thanks to all the folks that helped when my Nissan dropped the exaust
just before my last runs.

Mitch Moore, thanks for the wire, it held all the way home.
Charlie Monroe, thanks for the application for the wire.
Thanks to Ed and Eric Adams for not only allowing me to drive their Nissan, but taking it off the trailer so I could finish the event.
Those of you that stopped by while we were working to get the exhaust off the grass, thanks too.

Having only been a member for a little over a year, I've found the organization to be populated a great and helpful membership.
Once again, thanks to all.

What has 11 wheels and only 7 touch the road?
The Dirtmaster on a dual axle trailer behind our truck. The trick is that one of the trailer wheels was missing. We had a brake lock up somewhere north of Durham on the way to the event. Thanks to the unorthodox solution suggested by Eric Adams we made it back to the house with the wheel and tire of the offending axle removed and the drum brake held up with a 3" tie down lashed to the trailer deck. Before heading out on the road, we bounced around in the field to see if the strap would hold or would allow the wheel to bottom out. I consider myself resourceful, but I probably would not have tried that one without encouragement.
Thanks Eric!

So, did everyone manage to stay free of poison ivy? I know I hear Eric Adams express some concern of exposure. Most of the three leaf stuff out there was not poison, but I did see a few patches of poison lurking here and there.

I tried to knock down the cone in the ivy patch near Eric.

No poison ivy bumps for me.
Just 3 ticks. :x

ive got these small bumps. like mini mini pimples. its been sooo long since ive gotten poison ivy that i didnt know what they were.

they dont even itch unless i just scratch them, then it'll itch. and it wasnt even a lot. just small little spots here and there.

i dont know, i figured id be splattered with it if i would have gotten it since we wore shorts on friday.

just a buncha grass scrapes and scratches, thats about it.

Spray hair spray on the small spots and it shouldn't spread.

I had poison ivy a lot when I lived out in the country from petting the dogs.
