Where BMWs come to die

Just for the record, I probably won't be around much this weekend. Saturday is my son's Cub Scout Pinewood Derby race, and Sunday I've got a bunch of other stuff to do (8 hours of Pre-Game coverage is NOT on the list).

I'm planning to run down to the RallyX field Sat morning before the Pinewood derby, but I probably won't be around until ~lunchtime on Sunday.

Despite ~$800+ worth of new gravel on the driveway, it's kind of a rutty muddy hell hole right now- but should be OK by Saturday as long as we don't get more rain. Cows should be sequestered away from the RallyX field, and the electric fences should be HOT, so don't touch any random wires you see on the farm....

That is all, carry on and have fun!!!

Bret.

Back on topic....

We had a wonderful day today for test-n-tune.
We had 12 drivers registered with some new faces... including Collin McRae; not the infamous Collin McRae, but a Collin McRae none the less and we should be seeing him throughout the year at RallyX and AutoX.

For those who did not come, you missed the opportunity to take as many runs as you and your car could handle. No shagging cones... you knock it down you go back out and reset it.
It seems today was a shakedown for many cars. Several were in the pits for repairs and adjustments after the pounding of the course. Actually, Kevin laid out a quick and fun course that took 35-45 seconds to run. Sweepers, slaloms, hand brake corners, up hill starts with short launch area. All good areas to practice.

Thanks again to Kevin for chairing today.

We should have just as much fun tomorrow. 8)

I had a good time today, despite spending more time working on the 89 Subaru wagon than driving it. Thanks for providing a test and tune day!

Unfortunately I won't make the race on Sunday - there's some kind of internal damage to the engine, like seized-ish cam or somthing keeping the engine from spinning freely. As much oil as we were blowing out the breathers, I guess it's no surprise. Hopefully we'll have it fixed in time for OCS in March.

sucks about the wagon. hopefully things get better with it.

but yes, today was awesome. def. picked up a lot of speed and scrubbed off some times as the day went. we learned new/better lines and a lot of good advice was given.

see you guys in a few hours.

We had a lot of fun today in & out of the car. There was some good spectating out there fo sho. I was pretty happy with the courses, except for the places that always rut & the big dips that developed in some places. Can't do much about that, though, except keep shifting the course around, and we ain't doin' that. Good to see Ray and Kooter running some good times; hope to have some good competition this year from you and others.

If anybody got video of me at the jump, please post it or email it to me asap!

Thanks for coming, everybody! (that's what she said)
