Mrs. Rigmaster here reporting the website link for the BMW Farm weather.

It's from our next door neighbor's 80' ham radio tower weather station.

Results are up!

I managed to turn a 6 second lead on Mr. Adams after the morning runs into a 3 second loss by the end of the day, without hitting any cones... :cryin: :banghead:

Dammit. My plan to have FTC1 & FTC2 while being last in class was ruined by running over a cone.

I want to see some video of the jumps! Post it, beawtches!

Oh, and what happened to all the people who are afraid that the jumps will break their cars? All I saw yesterday was crazy people. I went the alternate route the last two runs in the afternoon after being in Adam's car when it landed hard on its nose. I think the dip just before the jump had a lot to do with that. There were a lot of cars nosing in. Didn't want to risk that with the daily driver.

The jump through the finish was a lot more fun if you skipped that silly slalom/sweeper & just turned it into a sweeper. :D

Yeah, I probably should have skipped the jump, the Laser did not leave the event in the same shape it arrived. Fun event though, and it was nice to finally not suck at the RX.

Even The Dog had a little nose damage from the jump. I'm not actually sure it got off the ground, but I lost some plastic from the nose.

I had a great time and think it was a good way to end the rallycross season.

The next time one of you guys tries to talk me into trying rallycross again, read the above quoted text.

We've stopped trying to talk you wankers into trying rallycross, now we can do what we want. And by the way, there was almost no penalty for slowing down for the morning jump, and there was a perfectly serviceable option around the afternoon one. These turkeys wanted to fly. :-)

Yeah, that perfectly serviceable option around the afternoon jump was about 2 or 3 seconds slower than taking the jump. So 6-9 seconds total penalty if you took that route. I think I'm the only one who took it, though.

It's good to see that everyone's ok with hitting jumps like that one at speed now. I'm glad I won't have to hear any whining about my smooth little jumps anymore, since they pale in comparison. :D

I got some pictures of 2wd cars, but I'm going to need to see some quality video of me getting air before I post them. :P

Nobody ever said you should try rallycross in the S2000. Our 1989 Nissan Sentra has survived over 1000 runs and still runs like a champ...jumps and all. It's no SE-R, but then again it was only $400. To say we've gotten our monies worth is a gross understatement.

Well, thats easy: This jump didn't hurt.
I don't know what the quirk of geometry is, but there was a landing area that worked well for our Sentra. I was a tentative on the first attempt to assess the pain-on-landing, but it came down slick as monkey-snit. I watched many of the heavier AWD cars get pummeled on landing, so I know that it was not kind to everyone.

Kevin, the jump at your house is kind of a pimple in the middle of flat ground. It kicks you up and painfully drops you (or me anyway) onto flat land. This latest jump had lead-in and lead-out geometry that worked well for me. Dunno why...

I was working the station right near the jump for the afternoon SO/NO4 session, and I think Dustin (?) took the alternate route every time.

The jump really wasn't THAT dramatic, though obviously you could do some damage if you hit it wrong or landed wrong.....

Either way, if you had a car you were worried about damaging, I don't think the alternate route was a bad option.

Of course, at least one person combined the 2 routes, taking the entry to the alternate (non-jump) route and then taking the long way around the next cone after the jump......probably only added 5-6 seconds to their time though.....

;0

I dunno, I thought a great time was had by all!!!

Copied from anther thread...

Results are up... We had to adjust the DNF time to 2 minutes. So some results changed, but no trophy changes; just pride.

I went the jump route my first run of the afternoon, and it was a more painful nose-down landing than I had anticipated, so did my remaining runs on the inside line. The "slaloms" on that line were easily flat foot, so the only downside was tightening up that next 90 degree corner, which wasn't that bad - it was also a much shorter route, so I think it was a wash at best. I was 1-2 seconds faster on the runs I took the inside line - while I suppose that could have been from other parts of the course, I certainly don't think that line was slower than the jump.

Dustin did take the jump on his 1st pass. I heard some tire rub on his landing. I suspect that is why he took the alternate path on his last two runs.

Some of the photos I posted do show some awkward landings.

The slalom was slower than the jump. Trust me on this. I ran a 62 over the jump, and could only get a 65 taking the alternate route. And I think I'm consistent enough and understand where I'm losing time enough to be able to know that's where I was losing it. I didn't lose 3 seconds over the rest of the course. Maybe one second, which is why I said 2-3 seconds slower instead of 3 seconds slower. I had to give up a lot of speed to go the alternate route.

But for some reason people have a tendency to doubt that I know what I'm talking about, so I'll just stop talking about it.
