The name said it all, well at least for about the first two hours or so. Temps in the 20's with a bone-chilling breeze to start the morning was a bit tough. However most who brought enough clothes combined with the bright sunshine, got steadily warmer thoughout the day.
Though we all had fun, I think some of the ladies had a better time at this event than at any autocross ever. Mrs. Allen put the smack down on quite a few of the men (myself included) and grabbed 3rd place wood in the S04 class. Lots of laughter could be heard from Malia and Kristen as they crossed the finish each and every time. I'm not sure if anyone had a better time than those two.
In the other two classes (SU2, and S02) the rentals ruled. Stephen Westerfield took 1st in SU2 in the "right-front-tire-air-challenged" '04 Pontiac Grand Am. Someone who shall remain nameless kept the other driver of car (me) from completing his last three runs so we'll never know how things could have stacked up.

Matt Thompson drove the '03 Dodge Status to victory in SO2 even after losing a bead on the left front tire. I guess you did need to check the pressure in those tires huh?
The infamous "Whitney Beater" also did quite well in SU2 with four drivers. I think I heard it saw almost 50 runs total! Apparently everyone who drove it was too heavy since they had to remove a few items to lighten the load. Who needs a hood, trunk lid, passenger seat, or back seat anyway?
The S04 class was more like an all Subaru Challenge. No surpise as Mr. Allen took home the 1st prize...probably cause he's practiced for hours on end.
This was my second attempt at Rally-X and it begs the question "what could be more fun than this!?". If there was someone driving that
didn't have an absolute blast I'd like never saw or talked to them. Even with the bitter temps everyone seemed to have a great doing it in the dirt.
Thanks for all your hard work Carl, Kevin, and everyone else who helped make this happen. We all had a great time and I can't wait to do it again!
