Thanks to everyone who came out today to support the RallyX program.

The official high temperature at OCS outside the bus in the 3" of shade was 98.1F at 1 or 2 o'clock. There was enough of a breeze throughout the day to make it bearable.

Despite the heat we had 23 drivers today. 15 drivers in SU2, 2 in SO2, 4 in SO4 and 2 in NO4. We started 30 minutes early and finished the day with fun runs and left the site shortly after 2pm. It was great day with a fast, fun course.

SU2 was won by Eric Adams in his 93 Nissan Sentra SER. Alan Hensley came in 2nd 15 seconds behind Eric. Then came Charlie Guthrie just 1 second slower.

The battle was in SO4 between Jeremy Gast and Brian Herring. 0.284 seconds separated the 2. Jeremy took 1st place carrying a cone. Great job Jeremy.

Walter Houston would have beat Bernie Baake co-driving The Dog but he DNF'd 1st run of the afternoon.

Jan Kokoska beat Adam Koperczak by 4 seconds in NO4.

Eric Adams had fastest time in the morning (49.453). Adam Koperczak had fastest int he afternoon (49.266)
.
Eric Adams showing again how it done finished 1st overall by 1.4 seconds over Jeremy Gast with 5:07.235(2).

A big thanks to Ash Nelson for graphics and setup on Friday. Unfortunately she wasn't feeling well today and didn't drive. I hope you are feeling better.

We will have the missing dash plaques to hand out for those who participated today at the next meeting and event.

The heat wasn't too bad. I think the breeze helped and grass is much cooler than asphalt. I honestly was much hotter last weekend at Sanford. But, my worker station was under the big tree today! :D
Bernie and I didn't do fun runs and had the car loaded by 1:00 p.m.
The event chair and VPs made good decisions about starting early and not stopping for lunch.
I can't believe I added another turn and dnf'd. I know I did it, but can't explain why other than old age.
The courses were great and a lot of fun.

what a hot day.. had fun though, story of my life.. almost 2nd place in class.. only to cone the dog gone thing away.story of my life.. i frightened my father, i got away with things that blew his mind.. ask him about the slalom, ahahha. the car ran great, the event was awesome. the soil was unreal, the competition was really quick.. loads of fun, what was up with the white se-r,
was it the switch that faltered? or just vapor lock? mine does that. anyway, 8th overall with 20 sec of penalties is unreal to me.. man, i was just flat going for it.. i could not help myself.. the car was hooked up, i was on it, the soil was perfect. I need to learn to be fast and clean.. not fast and reckless, eventually i will learn that maybe. I think we will certainly have something to talk about at the next meeting, for sure. One question though, was my father really bicycling it on the last run? wow.. hahaha. i was worried about rolling it all day today. The grip was incredible and that thought was in the back of my head all day today. anyway, i hope mrs. nelson feels better, the flu is not what you want on a hot day, believe me.. its certainly not fun..

till next time, if your not looking out your side window.. your not going fast enough!

The heat at the event was no problem, but I nearly stroked out driving home.

Short version of the long story: They made it to her workplace on Friday after she had left, but they did not get delivered to her as promised.

I have the dsh plaques now and I will bring them to the meeting on Wednesday.

I left work early Friday to help with course setup, and my boss was supposed to take them across town so that Chuck could bring them home and that didn't happen.

Don't worry about it. We'll get them next time. I hope you are feeling better.

Thanks Walter and everyone for the kind wishes.

I am still suffering from the heat. Yesterday was "fix the attic fan day" and today the a/c was broken at work so it was 90* in my office from about 3:00 on. I am hoping to collapse soon so I can go stay in a nice cool hospital for a day. :D j/k

Are there plans for a bus cleanup day? Does it need attention after the dusty rallyX? If so, I am there. 8)

I cleaned the bus on the inside after the event. I hope it was ok for the next event. I haven't heard any negative comments regarding the condition.
