I was also good to see all the new faces. That would actually be the reason there weren't enough dash plaques. I didn't count on us having that many people, but it's a good problem to have.

I tried to talk with the new drivers during and after the event and everyone I spoke with had a great time. Hopefully the fun courses like yesterdays can keep them coming back for more.

Also when I was leaving yesterday someone gave me an air tank that had been left in the pits. I have it, so if you are missing one or know whose it is, let me know.

And thanks Vincent for letting us borrow some wheels yesterday so the broken Sentra didn't have to spend the day sitting on the ground.

It was nice and fast. Yesterday was the first time I have hit(and stayed on) the limiter in second gear. Most fun.

You were flying, Chuck! If you'd had only 2 cones instead of 4, you'd have finished 2nd in SU2 and 4th overall! :banghead:

I just realized that I didn't get a dash plaque. Are there any left somewhere on the bus, or elsewhere? I'd like to have one, since those are my nuts pictured on there.

:D

Kevin,
Many people didn't get one including myself.
We ran out. I don't know how many Vincent ordered, but we'll have to make sure we up the quantity for future events.

Great courses. I had a blast out there. Thanks a bunch for hosting.

Chris

for my first solo event.. i think i did well. especially for the conditions and 71 hp. it is unusual for me i think, i have a 6:10.291. and the honda in non street 2wd. has a 6:10.934. which i think puts the toyota ahead of the honda, that is impressive. it was very very slick out. very slick. i think i did well considering what was put before me.. lots of fun. great fun. very quick

That was a lot of fun, even with only taking 5 runs. Rally tires almost have me hooked, but I don't think I want to purchase a 4th set of wheels.

Thanks for all the good words! :D

That was indeed a blast, being my first rallycross since the inaugural event 4 years ago, it seems as though the RX guys have really figured out how to do these things. Parts of that course were faster than many autocross courses. I was legitimately intimidated by the afternoon course. I rode with Whitney on his fastest runs and its a wonder I didn't make a mess in the passenger seat. I could not bring myself to keep my foot planted for as long as he did when I was behind the wheel of the car. Hopefully with more practice I will get better. But I'll definitely be getting more practice. :D Its weird feeling like a novice again, but now I can relate to how a novice might have felt at the autocross in Sanford in November.

I'd also just like to say, as a course worker, I feared for my life every time Remchak came around, that guy is a mad man and flogged that poor Sentra to death. :)

Hey, Mike - you asked about my secret suspension setup, and I just wanted to let you know what it was. I had heard some clunking from that car for a couple of weeks, and the ride felt a little underdamped & bouncy. Yesterday when I installed my Sandblast Rally suspension (06 WRX struts with 03 WRX springs), I saw what it was. All 4 struts were leaking oil, and the pistons will go in & out a few inches before hitting any resistance. So the secret is to have no damping.

Also wanted to say congratulations to Eric Adams again. He was really flying in the afternoon, and moved from 10th overall to 1st! Yeehaw. Yes, you AWD guys should be ashamed of yourselves for losing to a 2wd car, but not very ashamed. :D
