I heard about this last week*. Pretty Cool!

*One of my coworkers is dating Matthew's sister. He's been giving me Matthew Johnson updates all winter. I think the guy is hooked on the rally thing, he got to ride with Matthew up at VIR for some rally thing they had last year. When he came into work on Monday, he had that shit-eating grin that we all know!

Great to see Matthew getting such recognition and moving up in the sport. Can't wait to see how he does this year. 8)

Tell him we have a rally right here in our own back yard on Feb 9. He should come on down. He probably is since Matthew is on the entry list.

BTW, latest count: 50 rallymoto bikes and 29 rally cars!

Oh, he is going to Sandblast. He's actually trying to get me to go too. I'm not sure if I'll be able to this year though.

Well, as it turns out, Rebecca is off that weekend. I would love to volunteer, but she works Friday night, so I wouldn't be able to make it down for the meeting (due to child care issues.)

So how is the spectating areas? How far is the drive? And is anyone planning a day trip down and back on Saturday?

Oh, don't you worry about that. We can give you your very own private "worker meeting" and then tell you where to meet us when you get there.

Carl thinks we make it down there in ~ 2 hrs 15 mins. It's not all that far from Rockingham if you remember how long it takes you to get there.

Here's the spectator stuff... http://sandblastrally.com/2008/fan-welcome.php. I wouldn't know how the non-worker spectating is as we've never done that. It doesn't *always* work out this way, but Anders is typically pretty dang organized and a good-size group of us got in some primo spectating last year after our worker assignments were over. I think I remember that Chris Suich, Pete, Charlie, and Mark Hoerath, as well as 3 or 4 others, were at that same spot. Then we all left there for the free-for-workers post-rally party. :) I think I remember that Chris then went back home after the party.
