Since we gave Ash a break from video duties for this event, I guess that means that we need to do something with the footage now, huh? ;-)

I just fielded a question about video from the event, and that reminded me that I hadn't touched my camera since then... :oops:

So first off, who besides me had cameras out there? We should combine forces to get all the footage in 1 place, I'd think. Let me know if you have some, or know someone who does.

Second, is there anyone here who'd like to take a crack at putting something together? I've heard several people casually volunteer- does anyone want to make a formal offer? Otherwise, I can do it, it'll just take a little longer since I don't feel like I've got a lot of time to work on it right now.

I can put together a highlight video if no one else is available.

I am still working on the Dirtmaster and Bovine Beater vids too, I haven't forgotten about ya'll. Life's just been a little hectic lately.

If things are really busy for Ash I could do the pre-production of splicing the runs together for each car, then get you the video files to work your magic

I wouldn't even attempt to make anything as nice as the one's I've seen so far.

Does everyone have a DV camera so I can just take the tapes?

I've got a DV camera, I also have DVD discs if you have a DVD burner, just let me know what you need

Just the DV tapes would work - are you+Chuck or Carl going to the NCAC?

I won't be at the NCAC, but I'm sure we can work out something if we need to.

What I usually do as a first step is to capture everything, then split out each clip by car number, and whether it's a morning or afternoon run (e.g. su2-38am1, 2, 3, etc). That makes it easy to put the clips together later for single-driver vids, or grab favorites for a highlight show.

I did that for Ash after the last BMWF event and sent her the DV (.AVI) files on DVD - 5 DVDs - from my 2 tapes.

Anyone want to take a crack at the editing/production job?

Nah, we're not going to the NCAC. But, I can give you my address if you want to mail the discs to me. I also have no problem whatsoever if anyone wants to do the editing/production part either.

OK, now I'm confused :lol:

- do you both (Ash and Carl) have video?
If you just mail me the tapes, I can go from there - I'll do what Carl suggested and compile each car's runs into single raw clips that can be used by someone with creative talent :wink:

AFAIK, Ash does not have any video. I know I do, and it seems likely someone else does too (including in-car), but those persons haven't identified themselves yet as wanting to contribute their footage.

Yeah I've still got it. I keep thinking that I'll have some time and get it done myself, but so far it hasn't happened and new things keep popping up and cutting in front of it on the to-do list. I'll try to drop them in the mail to you this week (note to self: add to to-do list! ).
