^^- yeah, what he said - at least "Muchas Gracias" :D

Thanks for putting on such a fun event - and feeding us afterwards, too!

Thank you all for coming out today and making it all worth it!

Seeing you all have fun and not bitching about the course is too tight or not fit for low horsepower cars, makes rallying all the more fun. And having a reason to get to get thru all the instructions and get to the finish, (i.e. get to the beer and food) makes for a fun day.

Again, THANK YOU ALL for making our day successful.

Bowie

Another great job on the dash plaques and trophies, Vincent! Carl and I commented on how good your artwork was when we got home last night! :)

We're working on getting results into a format to post to the web.

BTW, where were you anyway? I thought you were coming to work??

Unfortunately I can't take all the credit. Part was mine, another part was Mike Westerfield, and the rest was a rip off the web. They turned out good I thought though.

I had to work on my car and get it ready for Rockigham this coming weekend. Sorry I had to bail. :(

Bowie and Lance, thanks for all your work and for a great Rally. Thanks too, to Gary Hill for coming to help at one of the check points. Next time we need to convince at least one more volunteer to come out to help Lance. Looked like he had his hands full with giving us our instructions, timing everyone, and sorting out who was a Rally car and who was not, as so many were driving by, just while we were at the check point. I can’t imagine how many hours must have gone into figuring out how many ways we could go down ADA Taylor Road. No kidding, it was a blast! I’ve finally found something to do that “over thinking” isn’t a bad thing. Now, if I was just better at math! We did find that our odometer and speedometer are seriously off. By the time we were 17.19 into the 2nd leg I was already having to compute for 18.0 on the odo. At least we didn’t miss a turn until after the Rally, trying to get to Bowie’s! Looking forward to the next one. All that didn’t come missed a great way to spend a Sunday. The weather was fantastic as well.

Oh, and congratulations to all. Everyone finished, and I didn't hear of any bail out envelopes being opened.

I just wanted to admit to a big screwups I made so you know it wasn't you, but rather me that unintentionally added confusion to your day (although I think you all recovered fine) (there was some well deserved feedback on this item and I'd like to own up to it!)

At the last checkpoint before the rest break (checkpoint 4), I wasn't thinking and I gave you start times for the next leg. But being the last checkpoint before the rest break (and we weren't trying to trick you here--it was right on the slip), the part of the rally from there to the END of the rest break was not timed, so there was no need for you to hang out at the checkpoint. So not only did I shorten your rest break by a few minutes, but the Leg 5 start time should have been the start time from the end of the rest break (at the point you re-zeroed your odo, marking the official beginning of Leg 5). This was of course corrected on your score cards and scores, but I'm sure it may have caused a slight bit of confusion on your part, so I apologize.

As for having help working the checkpoint--sure, it's much nicer to have a crew of 2, but one is fine as long as you have a clock that can store splits in memory (like I did). Once I found my groove, hopefully I was getting you out efficiently, but I also enjoyed chatting a bit as you came by and there wasn't TOO big a line!

First things first Thanks to Gary, Bowie and Lance for the great rally. We had a blast, and came in fifth on our first try, But Radar gun checks today indicate that our speedometer is 5mph slow. No wonder we were always a minute behind. So in retrospect fifth isn't that bad. And thanks again to all who helped make this rally a great time. If you didn't come and could have, you made a huge mistake. The weather was glorious and the company after the rally was teriffic. a fantastic way to spend a day.

You were 6th in the results as announced. But, as Emmie and I have been going through the results we've been seeing some apparent mistakes. In your case you were scored a 159 on Leg 5 (159pts = 1min59sec), but you were actually 10min59 sec late according to the score sheet, so you should have received the 750 point "max" for that leg.

Using those numbers y'all would have been 11th.

We recounted yours and Chris's. There was 1 small error on Leg 6; you were originally scored a 32 but it should have been a 38. Y'all still finished 7th.

Carl I can't believe that 10:59. Cosby was right in front of me for the first 5 or six check points then he was behind me for the last two or three. But he and Jen came up and we saw them at every check point. If he'd have come 10 min late that wouldn't have been the case. They finished, right behind Gwen and I. and thats because on one of the last legs they started us at the same time and I started early.
