Jeremy - the 08 FXT is waaayyy better than the 05 FXT, which wasn't bad at all. The appearance is the best difference to us, but the suspension is a close second. The struts are better damped, especially for comfort/control on sudden bumps, and the rear rebound is a lot stronger, preventing the floaty feeling the 05 got sometimes just cruising on the Interstate. I also really like how the transmission works, other than the longer gears. The only negative is the steering rack is slower, but it's not by much.
Matt - I added up all the parts that were upgraded on the 99, and it's over $5000. So it's like I bought a bunch of aftermarket parts and got a free car.
I love me some 2.5RSes. I've hardly even thought about the 07 WRX since we traded it, and definitely have no regrets.
Still have a few things to do to the 99, the top 3 being new clutch, quieter exhaust and steering rack bushings. Parts are on the way.
