Let's get off to a good start by recruiting our event chairs in advance this year. We'd like to see some new folks chairing events this year, so if you ever had interest, please sign up. Chairing a rallycross is easier than chairing an autocross, so if you're "not quite sure", rallycross may be the place to start. With the exception of the school, previous experience is not necessary, so feel free to sign up with another inexperienced person and make a team. One of the VPs will be available to make sure all the bases are covered.

Note that the event after the school in March does not have to be chaired by the same person who does the school, though that's typically how it's been done. About all that is needed for the Sunday event is to set up the course after the school is over.

Feel free to respond to this post (but please stay on topic) or send one of the VP's an email or PM.

Here are the dates:

Feb 3 - Points Rallycross # 1 (Four Oaks)
Chairs: Keith Vail

Mar 24 - Rallycross School (Orange County Speedway)
Mar 25 - Points Rallycross # 2 (Orange County Speedway)
Chairs: Chuck Nelson, Vincent Keene

May 12 - Points Rallycross # 3 (BMW Farm)
Chairs: Mike Whitney, Jim Feinberg

Jun 23 - Points Rallycross # 4 (BMW Farm)
Chairs: Simon Wright

Aug 11 - Points Rallycross # 5 (Orange County Speedway)
Chairs: Stephen Westerfield, Keith Strassel

Sep 22 - Points Rallycross # 6 (Orange County Speedway)
Chairs: Ash Nelson, ?

Nov 3 - Non-Points Rallycross (Four Oaks)
Chairs: Ryan Holton

Thanks!

C'mon folks, let's have some sign ups! The first event is just 3-1/2 weeks away...

What does a chair do? Bring chairs?
I am inclined to sign up but I need to know what the job entails, so I know I will be able to do better than a half assed job(And get off work if needed, etc.)

The biggest thing they do is get the course set up the day before. They are also responsible for dash plaque design and pre-event info. There is also all the other equipment that needs to be set-up/packed up but generally everyone lends a hand with that.

I would have rathered chair the March event but I can't give up three days of my weekend this semester so I guess I will volunteer to chair the February event at Kevin's.

I did even better- IM. She thinks she might not want to give you the weekend off considering an expected 3-week-old kid, so you're off the hook for now.

Dustin, are you out there? How 'bout you?

I'll have family in town AND may be going through some significant job changes..... that's not a no, but if there's another person that can take lead, I'd be more inclined to help....
