Thanks for getting the results up so fast Carl!

FYI you might want to check you scripts for FTC1 and FTC2. It has FTC2 for Feinburg, but it should be for Bob Wall's 53.x run.

<brag mode on>

The General Lei crew had quite a good showing yesterday. 4 out of the top 5 in SU2. :whip: SE-R what? 140HP what? LSD what? :nana: Too bad you missed it Kevin. You may have had to give us a compliment.

<brag mode off>

I need to apologize to Charlie and Mo for plundering through their tools w/o asking first. We needed to get the General's spark plug fixed ASAP (it was only running on 3 cylinders) and I didn't have time to hunt you down. That saved the day for us for sure. Thanks guys!

Also I need to give a big thanks to Mitch for covering my afternoon shift as starter. I've never bailed on my work assignment before, but my work X-mas party was yesterday and the 2 hour drive required me to leave early.

Edit: Mike, I won the bet. The Camaro ran all day and didn't bail. He was dead last as I predicted. :wink: We could have timed him with a sundial. :P He did have fun though!

LS-1 powah + RWD + Street tires = spin, spin, spin, spin, spin, rinse, repeat.

Vincent... you are da man!

I feel lucky and honored to be in the top 5 mix with the General Lei. :sing:

I thought for sure I knocked myself out of top 5 when I smoked the clutch on my 5th run trying some higher gears to reduce whell spin. (typo intended).

Well, looks like the Bovine beater could give the General a little competition next year! I guess those old retreads were holding me back.

The new site is nice, but Yikes!, that slippery clay! Let's try a dryer time of year for the next event.

Sorry I had to bug out early yesterday... I've never done that before, but Laura had to go to Charlotte and needed her SUV. (My MINI clutch would have beed tough on her twisted ankle, another long story)

After the event was over I asked him how many times he uncorked the NO2 bottle---- he laughed and said he'd be back!!! I sugested that he disconnect four plug wires next time. Everyone in that group said they had a great time and would be back. Heck he was first in his class.

First in a class of one. :wink:

BTW, I talked to Jeff Creech from CAM who was there with those guys. He said he wanted to go back to the shop and build a cheap RX car to come play with us next time. He seemed really exicted and eager to do it right away. Maybe we'll see an increase on entrants from his group in the future.

John Thomas (the Camaro driver) was a really nice guy- I talked with him several times during the day. Initially I was complimenting him for how much he had improved his car control from his first runs, and telling him he was a crowd favorite, etc. He appreciated that, but was also very keen to learn what he might do to go faster. He really seemed interested in improving his skills, so his head was in the right place IMO. He also said he was having a great time and would definitely be back.

No doubt those guys had fun amd Jeff told me they would be back. Under the improving skillz category, well an LS-1 powered Z-28 is definitely a handful and it's almost impossible to make it fast in RX. For a test let Mike drive it. If he can't make it fast nobody can. :o

I watched one of his runs from the course, and he was doing an *excellent* job at taming it. Good throttle control, trying to find that "sweet spot" for acceleration, managing trajectory with the throttle, fairly tight on the cones. I doubt I would have been able to better his times by much!

Now he just learns to learn some technjque refinement, momentum strategy, and consistency, and he'd be posting respectable mid-pack times. Then he'll sell the RWD car and buy a Subaru :)

Feels kind of weird not seeing my name on that list, now that the event has happened. But leading up to it, I really didn't care at all about going. I guess this is what it feels like to be burned out? :( Maybe missing this one will spur my interest more in the next one. I may have to go ahead and set up the STi to rallyx - that would be more of a challenge, and would be much more exciting than driving the RS (which has gotten a little boring at times).

No need to apologize. I bring tools along hoping that the only time they get used is when they get borrowed. If needed in the future, feel free to borrow them.

The General certainly seemed to recover nicely from the problem.

The only problem that the Integra developed was driver related and was fixed by 8 or 10 people pushing. Without their help, my second run of the afternoon would still not be done. Thanks.

Charlie
