If it rains that's where we'll be, and you are welcome to join us - but I get to drive the Spec Focus. :D

Make sure you get to the water splashes before Cosby Wood.

i think we owe somebody some mortgage money given the amount of soil dislodged from the undercarrariage of The General. easily 10 pounds.

Rather than a cancellation can we plan on a backup venue? Kevin's field will be runable even if it rains this week.

Simon, it's just going to be too much work to try to have a "backup" site decided at the last minute (like Friday). If we were to relocate the event, the decision would have to be made today, or tomorrow at the latest.

Kevin says we could have it at his place, but we'd need to use the course from last time, and I believe it's still fairly torn up. Not sure what the back section looks like right now, but I know it was in rough shape when I was there after the last BMW Farm event.

The forecast for rain is starting to look worse now for the event on Sunday, though we obviously can't know what's going to happen right at the OCS site. Personally, I'm feeling like it's been a long season, and if we can't have this event at OCS I'd just as soon cancel again. But I'm willing to move the event to Kevin's if the majority wants to run the "Jump To Conclusions" course again. What do y'all think?

As long as I can get a tow if I get stuck, I vote for OCS. I am trying to get some tow hooks on the car right now. :)

I don't know what forecast you're looking at, but according to Wunderground there is just a chance of rain on Thu and Fri, Sunday looks sunny and cool.

I don't think we have a problem. I am SURE that it won't be anywhere near as soggy as last time.

Or if it's too soggy we'll just ban all classes except NO4. How's that sound?

I was listening to the WRAL forecast this morning.

http://www.wral.com/wxmap/886690/detail.html

This morning they were saying chance of rain on Sunday, but now I don't see mention of it:

That fine as long as someone calls me at 5:30 telling me not to bother driving 2 hours to get there.

At this point I'm thinking let's go for it. It won't take long after we get there Saturday for setup to figure out if the conditions will be good enough to race the next day. If they're not good, we'll cancel- I'll send out an email to all preregistered entrants and put something up in the Tire Chirps on the front page about it as well. Good enough?

The only part that hadn't been repaired at that point was the section in the middle of the field. If it was torn up, it was from all you yahoos playing around that day. :P

We are indeed ON for tomorrow! :D Stephen and I found the course to be firm, though still a bit damp, with bright sunshine and a nice breeze hopefully improving things a bit more by tomorrow. We even found the painted cone boxes from last time, so setup was easy. For those of you who were there last time, we did make an improvement so the course flows better into the turn around the big tree.

I do think there's going to be at least 1 "mud bog" section on the course, but I don't think anyone's going to be getting stuck. This is gonna be fun- hope to see y'all there tomorrow!
