what is the surface like, is it clay based and non rutting or sand based and highly ruttable, we are thinking of either bumming a trailer and the toyota, or running the eta, but we would like to know the surface conditions first, to asess ruttage

.. mud is ok, non real ruts cause no friction against the surface, although the torque would be realllllly amusing, you think ican collect cones in the toyota, you aint see nteh eta.

Hi Pete.

Quoting from the event info page:

Quote:
It is a grass surface that looks to have a clay base underneath, with moderate elevation change. We think this field should hold up to the abuse a lot better than either of our current sites.

You can also find the answer in the 4th reply (my 2nd) to the site announcement post on the forum:

Quote:
It's a grass surface, and it appears to be a pretty firm clay underneath, so it shouldn't rut up like our other sites.

What kind of clay? Orange County red or Durham County yellow? I guess it doesn't matter, the clay will be damp and slick this time of year.

Looked kinda brown to me. Maybe I didn't dig deep enough. Will report back on Monday.
