If you can come help set up a couple of courses, reply here. We'll be placing cones, doing some raking/smoothing, installing some jumps and other rally-style elements (think "right 2/caution/don't cut" or "right 2/caution/trees outside" ), and setting up some spectator areas. It would be nice to have somebody with a rally beater, so we can see how they'll do on the airborne stuff.

The afternoon course will be one of the meanest, fastest courses we've had. So come prepared...

:D

Not sure if I'll be able to come out and help. Depends on how much yard work and general set up I can get accomplished this afternoon at the house. I'll call you tonight and let you know one way or the other.

I did hear that the jumps will be optional correct? I think The General would prefer to keep his feet on the ground. Please don't "test" the stuff with him either...unless you wanna let us "test" the same jumps in your car.

Jumps are cool, but our car isn't setup for the landingas. We only have one General. The Duke boyz had many.

Now I've heard a rumor that the A/T Acclaim will be "up" for it. That is if you can get that POS going fast enough to actually leave the ground!

Jumps are optional, and the difference between taking them and not taking them will be negligible. But I heard a rumor that the General will be taking the jumps. You might want to spread the word on the General's feelings to the co-owners. And I wouldn't jump any of the POS cars myself, because from the maintenance conditions I've seen, they might disintegrate on the landing. :P

I'll be working on stuff from around 9am until whenever it's time to get ready to go sample some Chili & pie at Anders' house. Anyone is free to just show up tomorrow MORNING and help out.

The "you break it, you buy it" clause goes for owners as well as renters of the General....so I don't see that being a problem. Sounds like we need to find out what the price of the "you buy it" side of that agreement should be before this event goes down. I think I can guess where the rumors of the General being airborne came from. Cosby....much like Subaru's aren't made to swim....that Nissan wasn't made to fly.

Hopefully my new suspension will withstand the beating. STi suspension FTW. Make sure to have a camera for the flying Legacy.

Don't worry Stephen, I wasn't planning on getting the General airborne at all. I was actually planning on driving the Subaru at this event specifically for the jumps. And no, it wasn't my idea to get take the General to the friendly skies  Besides, my Subaru swam just nicely :D It wasn't till 40 or so minutes later when it began to have issues.

Thanks to Charlie & Maureen Monroe, and Cosby Wood - your help is greatly appreciated.

The rest of you are a bunch of slackers. :P

Do the cones mark distance of the jump?

What's the prize for longest hang time?

:)

You need pictures of the STi airborne so you can use it in your Autotrader ad.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.
