There's a show on Speed showing a left coast Rallycross. Given how Speed does things, it'll probably be rebroadcast.

I saw that. The segment on rallycross was not bad. A lot of it sounded familar - they even had a Kevin Allen wannabe: he had a 2.5RS and was wiping the competition. They showed that rallycross can be done with regular cars. Lots of Subies, of course, but they had others: there was an old automatic Volvo and a 4WD Turbo 323. There was one guy who was a winning Drifter but was all over the place on the rallycross. Their surface was very loose, lots of dust and it seemed rather tight. It almost looked like they had a single-cone 360° turn around at one point. Given that California is bigger than New Zealand I'd have thought they could have found a larger site.

Yeah, I saw that a few months ago, if it's the same show. Maybe in December?

Anyway, the RS guy or some other Subaru guy was talking about rallyx technique and said something about pulling the handbrake to get the car to rotate. I lost all respect for him right then.

Course looked extremely tight and simple to me, too. Of course, I'm currently trying to figure out ways for the pre-WRX Subarus to use some 3rd gear in our field without killing any noobs.

Hmm... good luck with that. I was motoring around the field, and using 3rd there is a hard task. The top of 2nd was good enough for me. :)

At least it was on TV... I can't wait to see the Xgames with the Rally guys... :)

I heard that and then realized what car he was driving and just thought you should not need to be using your e-brake in an AWD car on a rallycross course. But then again maybe my car just rotates very good. I am just sick of everyone that mentions rallycross on the internet seems to mention Gravel Crew or Impreza Girl. I guess we need better marketing for our program.

Kevin, you da man. I think that the secret to your forthcoming success will be the 270* turnaround, like at Sanford.

I iknow this is a sore subject and I am very appreciative of the sites that we currently are using.....since, increasing exposure was mentioned.......Are there any thoughts, plans, intentions for an additional site that woudl have a firmer dirt surface that doesn't rut or a gravel surface. I am willing to help with looking at other sites but I hav no idea where to begin.

Rich has been promising to ask his Dad who has a farm up near Danville I think. That should put us firmly in the clay region.

I'll nag him again.

Everytime we see him, we are nagging him about it. After running at Oakland Acres I really would love a clay based course.
