Emmie and I were talking with Keith Strassel and Chris and Laura Suich last night, and we're planning to head up to Virginia on Friday morning. Tentative plan is to meet at Keith's place in north Durham such that we can leave around 9am. I think the Herrings may live close to there, and I know Keith Vail lives fairly close to us in Pittsboro- is there any interest in forming a caravan?

Reply here or email me if so.

Thanks!

Pay attention to the truck stops around Fredericksburg, VA. They have been engaged in fuel wars for years, and have the best diesel prices for over a hundred miles in any direction.

The bus will be heading up I-95 Friday morning, beginning at 6AM. We're staying in Fredricksburg, but the bus will be staying at Oakland Acres the whole weekend. And SCCA is paying for fuel, so maybe we'll just try to find the most expensive. (just kidding, Rob! )

Brian and Stacy are going up with us, unless plans change.

Is the frickin' bus running now? What about AC?

I am following the Allen's as we are staying at the same location, and we *may* be caravaning with bus + 2 rally cars + reiki car.

Yes the bus is running! :)

I'm pretty sure the XT will be attending too.

Wow. Ok. Let us know... I am just hitting the list serve. :)

What is your new gMail address?

What was the 'issue' with the bus? (take this offline if needed).

What's a "reiki car"? Is that some new ricer term? If you mean "recce" (short, sorta, for reconnaissance), then that's gonna be your Keds, bud. :-)

Wow. Critical. :)

Keds? You mean Etnies? I still thought they did a drive through in the morning as opposed to course walks (which I would do anyway, if possible).

Ricer terms? I have TONS of them. For Neons and Minis, I think I have more than average though ;)

They've allowed course walks in the past, and I certainly hope they continue to. I do think they still do the drive-throughs just before FCO, though you'd be using your competition car for that.

Anyone have any clue what the weather will do for the event. I was watching the weather last night and just west of Richmond got like 8 inches of rain. Will that affect the event or not?

If they get too much rain, they cancel. Otherwise, we'll be pulling 2wd cars out of the mud all day.

It's a huge course, so you'll need to walk it several times. I can share my approach to the parts that I've driven before (assuming they don't change everything). The drive-through is everyone all at once moving around the course at 10mph, but if you hang back a little you can test grip where you want to. 8)
