Great event! I have to say it was kind of nice to have a smaller turnout again (29 drivers), it took a lot of the pressure off to be efficient. Which was good 'cuz we sure weren't! :help: Still, I think we were done with awards by, what, around 4 or 4:15?

The morning course was surprisingly tight, and tricky to drive well. The afternoon course, in typical fashion, was faster and more flowing. My favorite part of the whole thing was the final section of the afternoon course- you could charge so hard up the hill and into the left-hand sweeper, just barely hanging on to traction, then pop off the gas and pitch it left at the crest, and with a little luck you're sliding down the hill at a 90-degree drift angle and it hooks up just past the apex cone and you're flat to the finish. I managed to do it right on only 1 of my 3 runs, but it was great! :sing:

Fortunately there was a bit of a breeze, but it was sunny and HOT! Good thing we had Christine and Stacey selling water and Gatorade! :kisses:

Thanks to event chairs Brian Herring and Keith Vail, hosts Bret and Kelly Luter, for helping make this possible!

Those were a couple of the funnest courses I remember driving. Then again, the new car and rally tires have significantly increased the fun factor :)

The elevation changes and surface undulations at BMW farm are really cool and challenging too!

Good work and thanks everyone!

Actually, it started off as Brian Herring and Cosby Wood, but Cosby had a sick wife and had to stay home, so I appointed Keith as his replacement. 8) Setup crew consisted of Me, Brian, Cosby and Keith, with Kelly mowing the course and feeding area. Not sure how long it took her, but she was basically using a heavy-duty riding lawn mower out there. Thanks, Kelly.

And thanks to all the people who didn't show up this time - your absence allowed us to really take our time and still finish up at a reasonable hour. (but please do show up next time :D )

I had a great time as usual. Thanks for everyone's efforts and a special thanks to the lunch ladies.

I didn't hit any cones!

Mike and I were talking to a David at lunch. Apparently he has a small used car dealership. Does anyone know if it was David Calhoun or David Edwards (two of the Davids that were registered)? Does anyone have his email/phone number?

Thanks.

Simon

I believe David Calhoun is tall and thin and drives a blue WRX. David Edwards is stockier and drives a red/maroon WRX.

Both put their emails in the prereg- contact me for which one you want.

Yeah, I was the original chair with Brian till some viral thing took Jen out for the count. At least me and the offspring were able to make it out for a few hours to hang and be social during the lunch break. If you liked the beginning part of the morning course, that's Brian's and Keith's doing. If you liked the later part, that was my doing. If you didn't like any of it, it was Kevin's doing. :P

2.5RS, not WRX

He's the one, Simon. Registrar should have his email address.
