Great event! I have to say it was kind of nice to have a smaller turnout again (29 drivers), it took a lot of the pressure off to be efficient. Which was good 'cuz we sure weren't!

Still, I think we were done with awards by, what, around 4 or 4:15?
The morning course was surprisingly tight, and tricky to drive well. The afternoon course, in typical fashion, was faster and more flowing. My favorite part of the whole thing was the final section of the afternoon course- you could charge so hard up the hill and into the left-hand sweeper, just barely hanging on to traction, then pop off the gas and pitch it left at the crest, and with a little luck you're sliding down the hill at a 90-degree drift angle and it hooks up just past the apex cone and you're flat to the finish. I managed to do it right on only 1 of my 3 runs, but it was great!
Fortunately there was a bit of a breeze, but it was sunny and HOT! Good thing we had Christine and Stacey selling water and Gatorade!
Thanks to event chairs Brian Herring and Keith Vail, hosts Bret and Kelly Luter, for helping make this possible!
