Andrew Frick and I competed in the first Rally West Viginia. We hope this rally will continue. Simply awesome roads: packed dirt, gravel on bedrock with loose stuff on top (mostly from all the AWDs ahead of us). There were 12 stages over nearly 60 miles. Some very rocky twisty sections: fabulous. Unfortunately we were side-lined by a failed alternator late in the eigth stage and had to withdraw.

But we had a blast and would like to thank our crew: Kieran, Emerson and Chris.

Simon

I will second Simon's comments on RallyWV well organized event, great roads, friendly locals, and nice event facilities at Snowshoe. Roads were narrow generally smooth and flowing with some tight very technical swithback combos. A few rough sections in the late stages. I was codriving a mostly stock neon with DMS suspension...those cars can go...I was impressed with the neon's performance. It had enough to take us to a 10th overall finish and second in M2. For most of the day there was a nice battle in M2 with 4 crews within 30 seconds of each other. Very sorry that Simon and Andrew had to retire.

Matt, I assume that those are not Wes's photos and he just happened to find the photos on the SWVR SCCA site. You may want to visit their home page and try to find the owner of those photos and see if he can hook you up.

Interestingly enough, SWVR SCCA (based out of Charleston, WV) is where I started my Autocross/TSD Rally career back in the late 1980s. :)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
