We have been approached by the organizers of the Oakland Acres National Rallycross about providing timing and scoring services for their event, and after some discussion back and forth, and amongst ourselves, we've agreed to go forward with this.

Consequently, we would need to provide a staff of timing workers, so if you have done rallycross timing with us before and are considering going up for this event, please PM or email me and we'll get you in the loop.

That still may not give us all the workers we need, so if you are interested in helping but haven't worked timing before, there is time to train you, and you can practice at the July 1st event (1 week before the National). Again, please contact me if interested. We would also have slots for announcers, if you think you'd be good at that but aren't interested in doing timing.

The Washington DC Region SCCA will provide free temporary SCCA memberships for any of our workers who aren't already members (a $25 value I believe), and these would also allow you to compete. They haven't offered to give us free entries, but we might be able to angle for that, depending on how well their subscriptions are going.

So, I hope if you are thinking of going you will also sign up to help us in the bus. And if you have helped us in the bus before, I hope you will consider coming to this event!

As I hope to handle sign-ups offline, please feel free to use this thread for discussion, questions, and/or comments about the event.

What little I know so far is that the plan is for the event to involve 2 different courses in 2 days (Saturday and Sunday), with the final score being the sum of all runs from both days.

If I'm able to go, I'll drive the bus up &/or back (that's going to be a looooooong trip) and work timing.

It is a wonder this program has survived so long with such a bunch of wankers as y'all.
