As far as I can tell, almost all the THSCC contingent has backed out or has not decided to go to the event, and I am not heading up there by myself to rallyX.
:?:
Nothing has really changed, except for the General Lei crowd bailed, and that was weeks ago, and not exactly news. Kevin has said he's going (and driving the bus/trailer)- I think he told me whether Christine was going but I don't have his mail in front of me now. Keith Vail has said he's in. Emmie and I are in. Wed at the club meeting Chris Suich said he'll come, and co-Bovine Beater driver Keith Strassel may come as well.

So that's 5 definite, plus Christine maybe, plus Keith S maybe, and if you came that would be 8. I'm assuming Coz would be a firmer "no" at this point... :-(

All except the news of Chris and Keith S. is already posted on this thread, so unless you know something I don't (quite possible), I'm not sure how you figure no one's going.

It can't be "nobody" going because THSCC has committed to doing the scoring for them. So, regardless of who else goes or doesn't go, at least Carl & I have to go. All additional who would be willing to go help with scoring whether or not you can or want to run, would be GREATLY appreciated! At this point, I'm thinking I probably won't run so that I can be working in the bus or available for emergency leg work the entire time.

:Waves hands at all the things going on in the background right now that Carl can't see:

Hmm... I think I am just going to reserve judgement until Monday when all the dust settles.

Thanks for the clarification, Carl. I will give you my answer by Monday, and IF I go, I will be helping you with Timing if you want my help.

:)

What are you talking about, Brian?

If any of y'all who I named above as "coming" have recently sprouted issues that threaten to keep you from doing so, I would appreciate hearing about it directly from you. This event is getting close and I need to know who I can count on.

Carl, If I can find a roommate for the weekend than I can commit to going. If I can't find a roommate then I might not be able to afford to go.

I would rather hear directly from 'them' before I state anything else.

Carl, surely you've figured out by now that Brian is a spaz...

How about adding a list of names to the first post in this thread? If people have an emergency and can't go, then their names can be deleted and we can know whether to beg others to go.

Put Kevin and Christine Allen on the list.

For those of you going, don't forget to print up some class markings! The SCCA classes are different as you know, and no one's gonna be providing paper sheets with the class names for you at the event!

I find that making an MS Word doc in landscape format, using the Impact font at 400 point size fits 3 letters on the page pretty well (I'm RSF, for example).

Getting psyched!

After a visit to the SCCA website & an email with Rob, they will be using these 2-letter class abbreviations...

Stock:
SR = Stock Rear Wheel Drive
SF = Stock Front Wheel Drive
SA = Stock All Wheel Drive

Rally Prepared:
PR = Prepared Rear Wheel Drive
PF = Prepared Front Wheel Drive
PA = Prepared All Wheel Drive

Rally Modified:
M2 = Modified Two Wheel Drive
M4 = Modified All Wheel Drive

So, for people like Brian who need to have things spelled out for them explicitly:

Please make up paper (or magnetic) class desigations for the class you'll be running this weekend, using Emmie's list above as a reference, and bring them with you to the event.

When you get there, you'll be putting them on your car.

Make them large and easily readable, or you will incur the wrath of your fellow scoring teammates.

I already have my ultra fancy number plates made up. I went one further than paper, by using some extra magnetic sheet and some vinyl letters. Atleast something on the Legacy will look good, since the car doesn't.

If you need to print your class & numbers...

Print your SCCA rallyX class here.

Print your numbers here.

Don't forget tape to affix them to your car!

Note that the PDFs Emmie made above are for all classes and all numbers, so you'll probably want to just print the pages you want, rather than just blindly hitting the Print button (Brian).
