So can you replace shocks in the Rally Stock class?

Sorry, had to be done. :)

So, to answer your question -- in stock class, NO, you can not replace the shocks with anything other than OEM replacements. Hence why I am in Rally Prepared.

There is no reason it wouldn't be eligible to run as long as you can get it to the event.

So w/o being a smart a**, do you think we would be competative? I still wouldn't mind going though.

You would be running in RPF. Which is rally prepared front wheel drive. I assume that is where you would fit in atleast. That is a rally tire class. So you take it from there if you think you will be competitive. I wasn't trying to be a smarta** just for the record.

Um, the CAR isn't competitively classed. With a gutted interior and no cats, the car is in RP. Due to the classing structure, you would need rally tires to have a good chance, IIRC what Kevin has told me about the surface there.

However, that isn't to say that you can't go with the car, and show other people up in a beater.... that is smoking... and place well. This is a 'National', and at Oakland Acres, so I think 'winning' is going to be a hard sell for any car, IMHO.

My vote is to take it and have fun. That is what I am doing as I know a I am going to get smoked. Regardless, this is a chance for the car to come back with some more stickers on it :)

Steve, if you don't mind hauling the General up there, then there is no reason why you can't and shouldn't run. As Keith and Brian said, the classing is more or less going to be the deciding factor as to how you may place. It's a scary/fun course regardless. So if you go to have a good time, then you won't be disappointed.

Vincent, as far as the competative part, same thing applies. The General is definitely a hoot to drive and can be taken to the top, but with the SCCA classes and the people who will be in the class that the General is in, you will have your hands full trying to stay on top. Not saying it can't be done, but it won't be an easy task.

If you go, great. If not, well you can figure that out.
