Curious to know how the Rallycross went today.

I'm sure you guys must think I'm a Rallycross snob since I've missed the last few events at the Allen's - but it's not true, really.

Today for example I had to be home to meet a guy coming up from FL to pickup a pickup I sold on Ebay, then another guy was coming from VA to pickup a couple of BMW parts and another guy was coming all the way from Apex to pickup a BMW door. Fred Sanford never had it so rough!! :)

But seriously- I'm looking forward to a Rallycross report!!!!

Bret.

Well the weather held most of the day as you probably know since you live only 10 minutes away. The courses were quite fast both morning and afternoon. My legacy decided to call it quits in the middle of Brian's first afternoon run when it didn't upshift to 2nd and he tried to slip it gently up a gear and then he got nothing but neutral and now it won't even start. We had one very interesting incident that I will let Kevin describe in detail since he actually saw it happen all I saw was the end result. Other than that it was a very good event that was well run. Oh and Simon, I will be back at the next rallycross even if it means I need to swap back to the stock springs on my WRX.

Thanks to the patented THSCC organization and awesome support the event went off almost without a hitch -- Kevin actually saw the one hitch, I was in the bus saying "Hey why is there a red flag?"

Thanks to my co-chair Chris, Kevin, Carl, and Christine for all your help and good food. Special thanks to Cosby for serving as worker coordinator even though you didn't even compete.

I hope people enjoyed the bracket thing.

While helping clean up from the "interesting incident" I found a quarter in the dirt amongst the glass! I pocketed it. Hope he doesn't come looking for it :)

Since he roll^h^h^h^h, um, had the incident *after* the finish line, his time was good, and it was faster than his first run!

Can we get a clue about the make of the "incident" car for those of us that owned a car that ran yesterday but weren't there to see it?

The incident involved a VW. He decided to "unpimp" his ride.

Everything turned out alright, he didn't seem to get hurt, and since he trailered it, there shouldn't have been a problem getting it home.

I was pretty sure when Mike W said he found a quarter that it wasn't the General......we would have found that in our weight reduction efforts. Good to know that he's still kickin' strong though.

Ahh, brings me back to the unix based mail/message system days. Use to love seeing people who *thought* they deleted certain words actually post curses and such... :D

It was a fun event, but we did have a few people driving a little outside my comfort zone. The cars may've only cost a few hundred dollars, but just remember how much your lives are worth, ok?

Good courses, and most of the day was pretty nice, but it rained pretty hard toward the end of the last run group, and the "final four" in the bracket competition got to run in mud. It was a lot of fun. :D And I didn't stuff any dirt in my rally tires this time.

Thanks for coming, everybody - hope you all had fun.
