What kind of numbers do most of you use for Rallycross? Will magnetics work and do I have to display the whole thing - SO2 3? I got some new numbers for autocrossing, so I can use the old magnetic 3's and the "S"s from SM

Most people use either magnets or paper. I've found several magnets out there while scraping the ruts out. They're all on the tractor.

Magnets or paper will work, but we do prefer the number and class on both sides.

Thanks. I'll make sure I have them.
I'm looking forward to this. It's got to be fun - $100.00 car, cheap tires and some dirt!

Get the paper numbers, and tape them to the INSIDE of the rear side windows. You never have to mess with 'em again.

I accept that reality. I measure my progress autocrossing by how far I am behind you!!! Everybody will probably beat me rallycrossing, even Ryan. :(
However, would you care to meet at the Kinston Dragstrip some Sunday afternoon this winter? :P

you might be suprised Walter, personally i think i suck less @ rallyX than autoX. less cones for one & generally more flowing courses. it is truly a blast.

If you use the paper letters & numbers, just as for autoX, please remember to print your own before you arrive AND bring your own tape!

That's a pretty spunky attitude for somebody who lost to a Miata :nana:

At least at our level, I do think it's probably easier to be relatively competitive in rallyX more quickly than in autoX. However, I think that's probably less because of course flow, and more about that rallyX is much less precise than autoX. By the event's very nature, the course is different every time for every driver & penalties, be they offline ones or cone ones, tend to help keep the slower more consistent driver in the hunt with the generally faster but more risk-taking driver. It's hard for even really good drivers to have *every* run be exceptional, as opposed to just 1 run.

But, I say that & then, whether it's autoX or rallyX, Tim Aro shows up & it doesn't matter how you drive or what you drive or what he drives, Tim wins. :whoknows: :)
