We're back from VA. Took the STi and ran on "grooved slicks" in WRC terms. It was wet and muddy in the morning, so I was really slow, but it dried out and turned to half & half dirt & tarmac, so I improved by 7 seconds per run in the afternoon.

(I think I was pretty close to single-run FTD

) Also had an off in the morning, on my second run - I went for the brakes and they weren't there. Steered it off the course past the hay bales & stalled it when I hit the brakes a second time & forgot to hit the clutch, so I had crank it up, back up & then finish the course. The braking issue continued throughout the day, so I had to pump the pedal a few times each time I wanted to slow down. I think what was happening was that when I came out of the slower corners I was blending the dirt up and coating the rotors with it, then when I would hit the brake pedal, the dirt would keep the pads from biting.
No imprints of anything, but remember the small tree at the top of the hill exiting the big curve in the afternoon, Cosby & Phillip? Well one of the fwders flattened it in the afternoon session, and awd ran first AM and last PM, so guess what line I took at the exit?

First time Christine rode with me, she screamed when we jumped the tree.
The 2.5RS with rally tires would've owned, but I'm glad I took the STi - it was a lot of fun with all that power and little to no grip.
Also, I think that our course on Saturday was equal in fun to Oakland Acres on Sunday.
