Just for fun, I'll be making up a set of stage notes for next weekend's rallycross courses. They won't be required (they may not even be helpful 8) ), but they might be, and for any of you thinking of of taking your game to the "next level" (this would really be 2 or 3 levels up I guess), this could give you an idea of some of what's there.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, stage notes are a detailed set of instructions for describing the turns and features in the road/course ahead. They are written (and spoken) in a sort of shorthand which is meant to convey this information quickly and clearly. The notes are read to the driver by a codriver (navigator) in the car as the car is underway.

Here's a stage notes "glossary" with some examples, if you're curious as to what I'm talking about:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/pwatt/GCFR/NoteGlossary05.pdf

Make your own arrangements for a codriver/navigator (previous experience is helpful but not required), but any codriver must be a registered competitor (ie. entry fee paid- no spectators).

Have fun!

That is a great idea as the course will not be forgiving to competitor due to not looking ahead. Who wants to be my navigator, I will be a navigator for someone also. :D Thanks Carl

Here's some more stage notes info, put together by some of the local guys:

http://linaracing.com/stage-notes.cfm

Now if you *really* want to have fun... just do the stage note thing and DON'T walk the course. *That* would simulate things much more closely.

Oh, and I had this dream last night: Kevin Allen and I were racing in a rally (each in our own cars). But the wheels on my car turned into bananas. I had a very hard time making it up the hill and into this hard left... And then the perspective changed, and it was like *I* was the car, and I was holding a banana in each hand, clawing at the road. Tough corner!!!

Anders

Christine says the funniest part of your dreams is that you actually admit to having them.

Well, I'd be pretty upset if someone else was having my dreams! ;)

This morning I dreamed that I was travelling across Canada in a full sized school bus. It was just me, one of my brothers (driving), my mother, and my daughter (that I don't have). She was dancing in the isle. I was looking out the window at all these ski resorts, that unlike American ski resorts with slopes, all of the skiiing areas were stepped, like Mexican pyrimids, which I thought would be quite difficult to ski, but fun on a snowboard, because of all the jumps. Then I thought that everyone on the bus should take off their snowboard boots, because we were melting snow everywhere and making the floor wet. But then I looked up at the front where Max was driving, and the fuel gauge was bouncing from 1/4 all the way up to 7/8. But experience told me that bouncing fuel gauges, you should read the bottom reading. And I wasn't sure how often there were diesel pumps in Canada. Then we went by a BP, which made sense, what with the Canada and the Queen and all.
