Does anyone have a set of used rally tires on Subaru rims I could rent for the July 9th rallycross?

I sent a message to the ncrally group & got no response... :?

If anybody has some, let me know as well. Otherwise, I may just end up buying some.

Hankook supposedly has a tire available that's CHEAP -- it might be better to buy a new Hankook than suffer on someone else's castoff. I was amazed at Sandblast the difference a new set of tires made. The old tires still had tons of tread (well over half) they had just lost their edges.

I think it was Anders that once said that rally tires are really not much good after about 30% wear.

I think a set of those used ones with 70% left would be good enough for a rallycross though. Especially since we don't know yet whether this is going to be a permanent class with THSCC. Of course I can always use them in DC. 8)

If I have to buy a set of rally tires, then I will have to buy another set of rims too. :drowning: This is getting really ridiculous, wasn't this just supposed to be for fun? I kind of liked the idea that I didn't have to swap tires to run a rallycross. :redcool:

I just ordered some new Falken Azenis... rally tires! Directly from Falken. They're discontinuing them, so not all sizes and compounds are available, but they had what I wanted (185/65-14 soft compound). $55 each. 800-723-2553

My 195/65/15 Falken Azenis rally tires (medium compound) are on the way. :D

Now I'm working on finding some 15" wheels to put them on...

Kevin there is a thread on NASIOC about what 15" wheels to use for rally. A few people were saying Team Dynamics wheels work good for rallycross. They aren't as strong as some of the true rally wheels but are also cheaper than most other brands. Hope this helps. I look forward to seeing how the rally tire cars run at the next event.

Very good reasons to stay in the normal tire class, for fun.

No one's saying you have to buy rally tires and rims, Phillip- we have no idea if we're going to support those classes next year or not, and even if we do we wouldn't take away the Street Tire classes. We're just gonna try this for one event. Take a couple deep breaths... there you go. ;-)

Well, I know that. But I would also like to be competitive with the DC Boys and I will have to go to rally tires for that. Because of the mods I already have done to my car I am in a class with the rally tire guys. :(
