Thought it was time for a unique topic on this.

Does anyone know what the classes are the DC guys run?

The rules they had last year still apply; apparently they're not going to be using SCCA's new & unimproved rules for 2005.

registration is open for next weekend! entries must be postmarked tomorrow or you'll have to register at the event & pay a lot more.

I don't think I will be able to make it next weekend. :(

I just read the car classification rules and with my turbo-back exhaust I would be in M-4. I think most of the people in M-4 will be using rally tires and I can't afford those right now.

I may drive up just to watch and lend support though.

CCR is running an autocross that same day here in Greenville. Of course it is event #3 and I have already missed the first 2 so I don't know if I even need to worry about missing that or not.

I'll let ya'll know something later in the week.

You're on crack. :) Rally tires won't make much difference in grip up there if it's dry: it's packed clay that sometimes you can leave rubber on. Go race, go race!!! :)

I drove my Forester XT around on the course yesterday. It was REALLY, REALLY THICK CLAY MUD. Hopefully it will dry out by next weekend.

I'm thinking I might get a used set of rally tires at some point this year, but I'm going to see what I can do up there with street tires until then. And I will be in M4 regardless of which of our cars goes with me - but I don't care. 8)

Wow looks fun -- a bit more penalty for screwing up than at your field -- buried tires for apex markers, yikes!

Looks like real rally tires would be a BIG help in conditions like that.

If you modified them, they might be good. Rally tires are great on gravel, but they will cake with thick mud. Cut out every other or third tread block. You would also need one of the softer compounds. Since they are allowed, mud tires would be much better. (aren't they lumped in with rally tires for their classing?)

Cheers :)

With an 80% chance of rain on Friday and
Saturday in Orange, according to weather.com, and with
the grounds already saturated from the previous
rainfall (area rivers have yet to recede), the
RallyCross School/Test&Tune scheduled for Saturday,
April 2, and the first RallyCross event scheduled for
Sunday, April 3, have been postponed to April 23 and
April 24, respectively. Hopefully, this will give
those registered for both more time to prepare for the
2-day event as well as allow the grounds a chance to
recover. If you have already registered for either of
these events, your registration will be carried over
unless you request otherwise.

Love,
Your organizers
