There will be a Test & Tune/ field maintenance day this weekend at my house. Only those who will stick around to help fix the ruts from this & prior weekends will be able to play. I've gotten about as far as I can get with the tractor, and we really need to do some manual labor to finish smoothing the surface out.

Necessary skills & abilities include sight & the ability to use a rake or a shovel. If you can bring a rake or shovel with you, please do. If you don't have one, you will be provided with one.

Or if you want to drive the tractor (Whitney), that position might be available, too.

Let me know right here if you can be there, and which day you prefer. (Saturday is looking good so far.)

The plan:

1. Test & Tune for a few hours
2. Use the tractor to fix the new ruts while the manual labor works on the old stuff
3. Manual labor works on the new stuff after the tractor has done its best

There may or may not be a timer, depending on how seriously people want to take this. I'm basically just hoping that the offer for playtime will help get people out here - unlike last time, which ended up being just me & Carl.

:P

I think I could spare a few hours either day.

Scott has reminded me that we'll need insurance if we're going all-out & timing people. So... if there's enough interest from people & those interested are willing to split the cost of the insurance between all of us, there will be a Test & Tune. If there's not enough interest, there will only be repair work going on.

If you're interested, let me know asap...

To be honest, I'm not to worried about getting timed. I won't even be bothered if I don't get to play in the field. I'll just come out and help fix er up a bit for ya.

Oh, and unless plans change, I won't be able to help on Sunday, but Saturday is still on.

Thanks, Cosby. Well, I guess it will be the 3 of us, then... anyone else?

I'll do my best to make it out but can't guarantee anything at this stage.

My plan is to go take the Ham license test at 9:30 saturday, then come over afterward.

Oh, and I don't care about timing.

Thanks to the folks who came out for today's work day. In addition to me and Kevin, we also had Cosby Wood, Pete Guthrie, and Simon Wright grab a rake and help out. Kevin had made a great start with the tractor so it was pretty light work, and in an hour and a half we had the whole field looking great. The effort will be well worth it, as now Kevin's field gets at least 3 month's rest and some grass will have a chance to get established.

Thanks again, guys, your efforts really help keep the program going strong!

And no thanks to me, who took too long at the Ham license exam, and arrived at the field just as everyone was packing up. :(

But you still were able to bless us with your presence there at the end. That's all we could ask for.

Sorry, I didn't see the post earlier. I don't get to check the site out much during the week. Work days are too long.
Would have tried to get up there.
