Any news on what will happen to the RallyX program next year? After an initial spike in interest, it seems that participation is waning a bit. Does the club have any definite plans for continuing the events next year or is it up in the air?

As a lot of people are, I'm in the "vehicular planning mode" trying to decide what I want to do next year. AutoX'ing is definitely in (although still not sure what car/class) but I'm trying to decide if I should get back into doing some track days or continue goofing around in the dirt. It's fairly impractical for me to do all three and keep up with my other interests so I'm attempting to pick two and stick with it.

On a related note, sign up for the last RallyX event of the year you bums! :P

Jim

I know Dustin and I will be there the rest of this year and into next!! Gotta play around in the dirt!!

Ok! So I haven't signed us up yet! We have been so crazy busy that I haven't had a chance to find the H&T. Can someone send me the passcode.

Thanks!

As far as I know, we plan to have a full season next year, probably 6 rallyxes, maybe a school or two.

Seems like a lot of non-THSCC people who would come to the rallyxes are doing something with their local clubs instead, so we'll have to be careful with scheduling if we want more people to show up.

Hopefully I can convert some of those pansies who bought WRXes for the "rally pedigree" but are afraid to get them dirty. What a bunch of wieners...

I'll do everything I can to help the rallyx program -- I don't have time any more (Damn responsibility :D ) to chair many events but would be glad to help with course setup, cleaning, etc. as much as possible.

Like Kevin said, I agree that if we schedule in better cooperation with other clubs we'll have better turnout. The potential competitor base seems to be much more widely dispersed it seems and conflicts with autocrosses anywhere in the state would be bad, if inevitable.

Rallycross in this club is not going away- we are planning on a full season next year, as Kevin A. mentioned.

As fortunate as we are to have such great access to a great site like Kevin's mom's field, I suspect the biggest issue right now preventing growth in our club is the way the courses can get torn up- and that there are a good number of folks who aren't going to try another event until they are convinced they're not going to be bottoming out on ruts. We do have 1 new possibility actively under investigation, and a handful of other "possibles" that I hope to get at least 1 more from. One of these sites is well west of Four Oaks, and others are northwest, so they should all have a firmer base than what we've been using so far.

Watch this forum for upcoming announcements!
