If you can believe it, that's an NU2! 235HP, 220ft-lbs using a Honda K24 in a ~1500lb chassis. "Top speed 125 mph", so they've put a short tranny in it. For comparison, the duff civic tops out at 108.9mph @ 6500rpm, 4th gear. (106.2mph in 5th, power limited) [data from the Aim Solo. Speedo needle says 120+]

The bad news... it costs more than my new Lexus. And TMI isn't (yet?) making them in the US.

(I've joked about sneaking one of those in the Duff car. They never look under the hood anymore, so the judges wouldn't know until we set a top lap time.)

Thats about all that thing would be good for here, that and hitting some dunes. I guess it would make a pretty good dune buggy, although a quite expensive one lol.

I do appreciate the concept, which is a street legal sand rail. A really nice Baja Bug would cost half of that and be street legal here.

Really? So you can stick any engine you want in the car? Or make it a turbo? Or completely rebuild a monster engine?

We could do that, and I've got a couple of monster engines sitting around that I could bolt in there, but we'll stick with the 1.6L single-cam. It would be totally against the rules to put my 275 WHP K24 Frankenstein motor in that car, but enforcement is lax and like Ricky said, after 6 years of the same car, they don't even have us open the hood any more.

Of course, they'd reclass us into A with 1000 penalty laps. If they carried them over, it'd take all year to get positive again.
