I'll also apologize for the AXWare timing software which gave us fits all day. The autocross folks are also cursing the software and looking at alternates, so hopefully relief is in sight next year.
As a time recording thingy, it's not that bad (when it doesn't crash, and
EVERYBODY f'ing registers at the bus with the correct class/number
BEFORE they show up at the grid.) However, getting it to calculate a correct score is a serious pain in the ass. (I have spreadsheets that do a better job.) Having to re-class and add new entries while running cars is what leads to the crap software crashing; and if you aren't familiar with the various menus and shortcuts, it can take too long and then you're behind by several cars.
I hated to stick you alone in the bus, but I have to drive at some point. In the future, ignore the computer -- it'll add times as cars cross the finish, even if entries aren't staged -- and keep the on-paper records correctly. Hard copy trumps [censored] software. Several people have asked to learn how to manage timing. I'm happy to hold a "class" on how I do it.
