Your bus driver is planning on getting the bus there around 2pm.

Come help setup a course where *you* won't hit cones.

Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed another wonderful weather day for rallycross. I hope that you all had fun. We all enjoyed a 75 to 80+ second course (except for Kevin Allen who cheated himself of seat time by going really, really fast)

Thanks to all who pitched in and helped out with setup and cleanup. I must apologize for avoiding the final results and jumping on the tractor right after the last car ran. We were running late and the course got pretty chewed up in a few places. I was afraid that it would get dark before the course was presentable again. I finished about 10 minutes before dark. As the sun got lower the bumps and dips and missing gravel spots stood out more and more as the shadows accentuated the terrain.

We had a couple of cars that broke; one came on a trailer but the other was driven 2+ hours from VA....I hope they returned OK.

I'll also apologize for the AXWare timing software which gave us fits all day. The autocross folks are also cursing the software and looking at alternates, so hopefully relief is in sight next year.

Speaking of next year, it's time to start the VP nomination process and both Drew and I have commitments that will prevent us from holding office next year. If you have ever considered club service and want to help keep the program alive, now is your chance. As a VP you could count on us to support you often, but neither of us can guarantee attendance at all the events. The bonus is that you get final say on course setup plus your entry fee is zero.

As a time recording thingy, it's not that bad (when it doesn't crash, and EVERYBODY f'ing registers at the bus with the correct class/number BEFORE they show up at the grid.) However, getting it to calculate a correct score is a serious pain in the ass. (I have spreadsheets that do a better job.) Having to re-class and add new entries while running cars is what leads to the crap software crashing; and if you aren't familiar with the various menus and shortcuts, it can take too long and then you're behind by several cars.

I hated to stick you alone in the bus, but I have to drive at some point. In the future, ignore the computer -- it'll add times as cars cross the finish, even if entries aren't staged -- and keep the on-paper records correctly. Hard copy trumps [censored] software. Several people have asked to learn how to manage timing. I'm happy to hold a "class" on how I do it.

Unofficial results (while the VPs figure out MSR):
Final Results (these are different from what was hastily taped to the bus)
Overall Times (no surprise NO4's ran away with it...)
Points! (or an Axware attempt at it. No, VIR isn't correct.)

You have me down twice in the points list, 3T and 12th.

Believe it or not we had already caught that...that's why we are double auditing this year. Unfriendly software + late night postings.

Ray will be happy to know that he gets to replace one event that had been a 2 pointer with a 6 pointer, significantly altering his competitive position. But don't go away just yet....we've only started the audit.

I really hope that the club manages to find a more user friendly software for Rallycross (and Autocross, too).
