I would do this event and a Fayetteville event in the same month. Both sites look awesome.

OK guys, assuming this is still happening, I've got a couple questions for some car buddies who might travel down from DC to do this

1) is there any chance that one of them could co-drive a car at this event? (I would offer mine to them since they're my friends, but I may not be able to make it) Let me know and if you would want some money thrown your way for gas/seat time/wear and tear so they can expect how much to bring.

2) 3 or 4 of them are considering buying a $500 shitbox, towing it there, beating it to within an inch of its life all day, and then dropping it at a scrapper on the way home to make some money back. do you guys know of any "we'll buy any wrecked car for $300 cash" types of places in Danville?

The correct answer is to rent a car in DC or Danville and cleaning it really well before they return it. I also suggest not getting a Versa if at all possible.

If we stop being lazy, and find a second trailer, we could have the POS Sentra there. (automatic, 3rd doesn't work)

Renting a car for rallycross is a really bad idea, speaking from experience. After a full undercarriage wash there might be a falling under tray, especially if it's a late model Subaru.
Most folks don't have any equivalent damage, but just wait until it's a rental and stuff happens.

Any idea how the schedule will work with the HPDE sessions? I'd need to schedule a student, my track sessions, and rallycross runs!

They're welcome to drive the DIRTBOMB, but I just sunk about $900 in it for repairs, so I'd be expecting a donation to the cause for wear and tear. Plus I have to drive it back so they'd have to be careful.

The rallycross is tentatively scheduled for Saturday. We will have the same format as our normal events, so you'll probably just have to come down to the track in between your HPDE sessions and we can squeeze you into the front of the line.

If you would have let me drive your BMW back when I asked, I would, but since you declined, I will reciprocate.

Just so everyone knows the results of this poll, we have decided NOT to hold the rallycross in Fayetteville on September 21st.

The VIR mega-weekend, followed by the Jimmy V 2-day autocross in Danville the following weekend, is going to take a whole lot of time and energy, and we feel our efforts are best served making those events as successful as possible. Please note that the rallycross at VIR will be considered a THSCC points event, so we will still have the same number of points events as before.

The event will be removed from MSR registration shortly.

Has a decision been made about whether novice drivers would be required to have an experienced passenger along? This would be a deal killer for us since we now don't have a passenger seat, having taken the old busted one out of our car. As long as the course is safe shouldn't a novice driver learn first hand that driving over your head doesn't get you a fast time?

Novices should get a ride or two around the course with someone before diving in themselves. It would be best to have a "navigator" in the car, but that's up to the VPs to call. (I don't know what the insurance requirements are.)

OK boys and girls, we are only days away and we have a record number of advance signups on Motorsportsreg.com. If you are planning to come, please sign up to reserve your space. We may need to cap the number of registrations if it gets too crowded.

If you sign up on line and do not want to pre-pay, we can give you the preregistration price IF you bring exact change (if you just bring instant teller $20 bills it will take two of them to get in).
