As many of you in the Triangle or Triad know, there has been a boat load of rain in some areas. Your Rally-X VPs have paid the weather bill and arranged to have the Fayetteville area missed by the bulk of the storm.

Actually we can't take credit for the weather results, but the area rainfall data shows a "doughnut-with-a-bite-out" shape with the open center right around our rallycross site. It appears that there has been about 0.6" of rain in the area instead of the 2" that we have seen around here.

That being said, we are heading south tomorrow to set up the course. The site owner is planning to meet us there, but we don't anticipate any issues. However, should the situation change, we will post here and send a Motorsportreg email blast if anything should change.

One last thing, don't forget that you loose an hour of sleep at 2:00AM Sunday morning so don't show up at 9:00 thinking that you are early.

Man I'm sooooo ready to rallycross. It's been a long cold winter and Sunday should be marvelous.

OK, we are a GO!
Course is about 1:30 long with 0:30 overlap, or one car / min.
Guaranteed fun.
See you there.
Setup was tortuous for a variety of silly reasons.
Thanks to Ricky, and Adam for helping most of the afternoon.

The NCR guys had fun down there. Two of which it was their first ever Rallyx.

I'd like to think that everyone who attends a THSCC Rallyxcross has fun.
We did find a couple of places that rutted pretty heavily, but overall the course was fun.

Thanks for putting on a great rallyx. It was fun to see all of the new Subaru faces, but I wondered what happened to the 2WD crowd...

Indeed, those ditches made for an interesting ("omg, I'm going to flip the car") turn. Eventually, I gave up and just went wide at the first turn, and then tried to rotate the back end towards the second. Eventually, that second one claimed some cars -- I had to call a hold to pick up pieces of one bumper.

Overall, the best weather we could've wished for, given the two days before! I liked Kevin's after lunch short course. (esp. the fact that it was setup to avoid hitting cones. 'tho Drew did manage to hit too many and finish 3rd.)

The only "issue" I'd wish was better... we need a half dozen people well trained on using AxWare! And yes, I'm putting myself in that bunch. ('tho I'm perfectly happy with the manual method -- which I was doing when I wasn't driving or watching cones.)

Thanks again to Drew for the use of the only functioning Golf. :-) And to the whole crew that setup the course.

Thank you Ricky for pointing out the large stack of cones I hit that weekend  Trying to take the inside line to avoid the ruts did not appear to work in my favor. It was a bit hairy in some areas of the course, but I'm glad we were still able to make an enjoyable weekend out of it, considering the unforgiving weather we had recently. Hopefully when we come back to Fayetteville in May, it will be dry and the ground nice and solid.

This might be a good lesson for all of us to stress the importance of checking your tire pressure before the event - some of the mishaps of the weekend may have been avoided with some stiffer sidewalls. Charlie and I will make sure to bring it up at the driver's meeting for future events.

Jeff Eng took some amazing photos and posted a link to his gallery on FB, I will post the link here as well: http://photos.kestrelracing.com/g/2014_ ... llycross_1

Next race is in Wilson on April 27th. The event will be posted on MSR asap for registration; you can find a link to it on the thscc.com calendar.
