i have a inkling to later on, when i have good money again. to build a tdi golf rally cross car. as a project car for me to learn diesel on. what class would a vw tdi 1.9 tdi be in. if you turn up the pump, straight pipe, and some stuff, you could get decent power for wht it is. 110 hp fly and great torque, its about what a mini cooper non blower has. gwen's car has 116 hp fly. its quick. a vw tdi rally car was down in sandblast once.they were 2wd champs one year.while not as fast as a gas car .it would be ok.so2 because 2l turbo engine.

while i dont expect that kinda power. just over 100 hp and great torque. while gas you get horsepower and revs, diesel you get torque. not much hi rpm power. just low rpm torque. our truck only has 215 hp. but 315 torque.

i hear, while not cheap, you cna actually make decent power with a tdi.even the 1.9l tdi which in stock form is not fast.it can be made fast with some work.
