Ricky Bobby didn't say anything about cancelling if it's going to be raining, did he? I remember a few times he said we should cancel/postpone if it was raining.

Good point. It's looking like a 40% chance of rain on Sunday. Charlie?

Rain cancellation is always a possibility. I will double check with Ricky. He may want to wait until the last minute to see how the weather is going. There is a chance of rain on Saturday and a 70% chance on Sunday, but depending on how hard and long and when the ground could be OK. It could be tough to do the tractor work after the event if it gets very wet (my wet soil skills are unproven).

Bad news folks. I just got word from the Fairgrounds that they would like to cancel the event on account of rain. they just finished a large auction of heavy equipment on the site and they had to haul in more than a dozen dump-truck loads of sifted soil to patch up some areas and these areas will become very muddy in the rain. Since there is a 4H event the following week the site doesn't think that they would have time to repair any rutting if we run in the rain.

Let's take a little comfort in the fact that we won't be standing around in 40 degree rain for the whole day.

Since we have only a month before our debut event in Fayetteville, start making plans to attend.
Is there any interest in a special offer like "Bring a new competitor and run for free" or "First time entrants run for $5?" We heard that the Utah SCCA group did events like this and the turn out really blossomed.

I think it wouldn't hurt to try the promotion "bring a friend and you drive free". The way to grow the program is to get as many new people as possible to try it in order to find the people who like it enough to come back every month.
