Oct 14 Rallycross Status?

Thanks for the great event Sebastian and Kevin!

Kevin, can you put marek and I in s04 for the timing? We were on street tires.

We will meet with Carl before the next RallyX to get the computer to work for timing.

the wrx likes to accelerate alot. the turbo kicks in and all i get is wheelspin in first gear. all four wheels in that slippery gravel. a few times i thought something was wrong, nope.. just overdoing the gas! that course was sooooo much fun. the afternoon course once i figured it out, was fun too. lots of sideways and car control, which fit my driving style. fast and loose. stil hit lots of cones though. That is a habit i gotta break. :lol:

Awesome course-- there's nothing like running out of 2nd and having to shift to 3rd in the middle of a sweeper! The second course had too many turns :-)

I got the pictures off of the camera, and will put those up tonight.

Don't forget, the next race in Nov. 4th at the same location.

Pics are up to the "burger man", but I do have video. For some reason my new Flicker pro account seems to be limiting my HD videos to 1:30 seconds even though it is supposed to be "unlimited" so this is cut off right before the end, but you get the idea.

That was a great event. I didn't do very well, but I did have a lot of fun.

The soft gravel on the hard clay underneath really made a challenging racing surface for me- traction was very loose in some spots, but I was actually squealing my tires on some of the other turns. It took a lot of concentration.

How do you like the audi on street tires? i love street tires, they are way more fun, because you arent in control all the time.. the car and you have to both be in sync to make it out without penalties.

Like you describe, definitely less control with street tires. Our street tires have less than half tread, so it was interesting.

Once I got used to it, the main difference noticed was that I had to focus all my effort on keeping the rear planted - it would get loose when accelerating, even in a straight line, and then it had BAD off-throttle oversteer.

Was a really fun event, and was nice to get back out there for our first event this year!
