Well, I thought I'd start a thread to keep all my friends here posted about our latest adventure.
This has been a dream of ours for a while (more like a fantasy given our expectations of achieving it). We had intended to make it last year but two aggressive trees in South Carolina had other plans for us.
It's mad, I know, but Kieran and I are competing at WRC Rally Mexico! Not quite wheel to wheel with Sebastien Loeb but maybe we'll be drinking the same beer one night.
It's been a very complicated logistical challenge and quite expensive as you can imagine. The car is about as ready as we can make it. It's loaded up with everything (we hope) we need for the event and we're putting it on the trailer tomorrow. I'm then towing to Salem, Missouri where I am codriving the Zero car at 100 Acre Wood rally. Then I'm caravaning with another Rally Mexico team to Laredo, TX where we hand off the cars for shipping. I fly back to Raleigh then out to Leon, Mexico the following Sunday. Run the event and fly back to Laredo to collect the car and tow home. Phew!
Thanks to all who have helped us along the way. Most recently, thanks to Jeb Brookshire at Discount Tire for last minute tire juggling.
I'll try to post updates here but, if you have FB, you can follow along there too. Friend me or like
