These events are at Summit Point, WV. The June event is the regional championship. It's 2 days, and costs $100. I'm hoping to go for an event before that to check out the site and play around (probably April), then go whoop everybody in June. Unless I decide that $100 is too much for a rallyx. Anyone else?

March 18 - Event #1
April 21 - Test 'n Tune / Driver's School
April 22 - Event #2
May 20 - Event #3
June 9 - 10 - Regional Event #4
September 8 - Test 'n Tune / Driver's School
September 9 - Event #5
October 14 - Event #6
November 11 - Event #7

Kevin, thanks for posting this. I've really been wanting to get up there and race with those guys. I say we caravan a bunch of THSCC cars up there.

Updated - they changed the May rallyx date. And added info on cost of the regional championship. Yikes.

i dunno. long haul for us, although the rallyx caravan does sound tempting, i will broad cast this on nasioc and see what fish bite. I am so happy the nissan runs again. loud proud and clear too... I have been wanting to test that place out, for some time.. perhaps this is the year, if i get a good paying job, and have money for it.. I may go for that... take the nissan up, half the diesel cost with my father for the truck.. and go play up there, we got spare parts for what breaks. The 100 dollar event, well, we got 234 dollars for hauling off the old junk nissan.. i can think of no better way to spend it. March 25 the rock is having a import drag. I have not been to one of those in ages..However, maybe if you dont mind our old ugly truck going up with you guys, we can come up with the nissan and have a good time. :sing:

I might try to make it to one or two of them. Most likely the April event and maybe one other.

It's clay, and it's a huge site. You should be able to find some of their videos on youtube. Search for DCRally, Summit Point Rallycross, etc.

good. smooth surface. we may bring the wrx up there, it is MUCH more efficient than our big diesel. even though our diesel is more efficient than a big block gasser.. :sing:

We got money for hauling away a junk car, and that cna easily go towards money for the entry.. There is a chance we could bring the wrx up.. And run in street class, seeing as how I dont have the scratch right now for rally tires.. Or the wheels for it.
Come on guys.. we dont need to go to regionals, just one of the events that they have.. maybe the drivers school or something. I for one am not going to regionals, i would lose royally ..

We are shooting roughly for the 22nd of April, for the first foray into Summit Point.

Any takers.. also.. where is the nearest tent camping place? We are looking to take the wrx, pack her up and go tent camping somewhere..

This is all speculative at the moment... however it could turn more real soon.

OK, as Pete has already stated, we're seriously considering going for the 2 day April event. That's just too far to go for a one day event. We are researching camping options at the moment. I recall camping near Summit Point for a track event but that was 1990/1991 time frame and the camp site was BASIC (probably a dozen sites, pit toilet and one faucet for the site).
Are there any other campers out there who want to savor the West Virgina out of doors?
The big debate for us is whether to drive the WRX and have minimal camping equipment or tow the SE-R and have all the camping gear we can imagine in the back of the truck.
I noted on their website that early registrants get "better starting positions". Is the run order fixed before the start? Do they require working the same way that we do it? (i.e. work any time you are not driving?)
Any idea what time they typically finish up on Sunday? It's a long drive home if they finish up late in the day.
Any answers will be appreciated.
Charlie G
