Checked the volunteer assignments and I'm on:

Stage Team B - Hunter Pond - Control

Any idea what "control" does? :-)

Control either works start or finish. Interesting but can be stressful.

Why, what's the worse that can happen?

Well, it's an important job, drivers count on the control workers to get their proper times. Don't worry though, if you've never done it before they'll be teaming you with one (or more) experienced control workers. Once you get the hang of it it's very straightforward. The bikes make it more interesting, though... :)

Well, I like to be in control so this may just work out. Give me a clipboard and I'm good to go :-)

I can't wait!

Bring rain gear. If we all bring it, then that 40% chance won't amount to much 8)

Look forward to seeing you guys Friday night!

Any interest in trying to get together for dinner?
Pete and I are headed down early afternoon and should be there and checked in before dinner time. Looks like we need to be back at the headquarters by 8:00PM for the volunteer meeting.

We're in for dinner, depending on how shakedown/parc expose goes. Some people are supposed to get together at the Mexican restaurant across from Days Inn after the workers' meeting. I won't be eating Mexican food that late, though. So that or something else before the meeting would be good. Liz says no buffets.

had fun and subaru is very dirty. The roads were sloppy and slick but were fun even at 30 mph. would have gone faster but the trees were really big in my windscreen, easy easy to hit.

Many thanks to all the fine THSCC volunteers who came out to brave the cold and damp.

For those who don't know, Kieran and I wiped out on the first stage.
