Ladies and Gentlemen,

The last rallyX of the year is scheduled for Nov. 7th at BMW Farms.

This is a Non-points event. That doesnt mean you can skip it. We still want you out there having fun. Bring another car or another driver. Come test out your next seasons race car to see what it can do.

I had a request for Co-chair for the next event, but that member has chaired quite a few, and would like to give others a chance. Please let me know if you would like to help chair this last event...

That means you can set the race up the way you want it..

Thanks all and lets end this year with a bang! (not an engine bang though)

Let me add another bit about the non-points event.
We NEED people to sign up in advance (remember there's a $5 discount for using PayPal or mailing in a check, or paying cash at the meeting next Wednesday).

Kourosh and I have discussed that if the attendance does not appear to cover the expenses we may have to "reconsider" the event, and I really need one more rally-x fix before the season is over.

Go ahead, break down and pre-register. Guaranteed Not to be July Hot.....Last call before February!

And thanks to all who came out and played at OCS. That was undoubtedly the longest and most mentally challenging event so far this year.
Best regards,
Charlie Guthrie

Unfortunately Marek and I won't be able to make this last event. The Audi struts are totally wasted, so other stuff is starting to take a beating. We broke a front and rear upper strut mount at OCS. The front allowed the strut cap to contact the hood, and the rear allowed the CV axle shaft to touch the frame a couple times. So we can't risk destroying something at BMW Farm before we get to replace the struts.

We're going to go ahead and start working on it now so it will be ready for next season. New struts, remove intake manifold so we can replace valve cover gasket (hopefully we'll have our first car with no smoke from under the hood!), and probably replace the timing belt - it's an interference engine with no record of the belt being changed, and an odometer that stopped working long ago... Also want to get the Corbeaus installed from our old Subaru with some harnesses so I won't get yelled at anymore for riding with my arm out the window trying to hold on... :)

if we can get the overheating problem sorted out.. we can be there easy.
right now we have a problem with overheating.. the fan works, there is coolant in the radiator, just running hot. i dont get it. anyway... we have that to figure out. the high ride height will help in brets rough field. just gotta keep her cool. i say bigger radiator, but dad says bubble in head.. we will see.

I'll be there if my knee heals quickly. ACL surgery tomorrow. I won't be doing much walking but i'm hoping driving will be ok. Because of this I can't chair.

Yes! Great idea - put him on the ballot for rallyx vp.

Actually, we'll be using tires and barrels full of water.

We're broke. We won't have the clutch fixed for a while. We are going to work on a lot of stuff to make it more dependable. Yeah, with a DSM dependable is a relative term. Our 2nd gear syncro is shot and we have a transmission leak. We also have an oil leak and a bunch of little stuff to fix. We'll be ready for next year.
