Unlike autoX, we dont have a fancy way of getting the points, so I just copied and pasted places 1-8 and gave the required points.

i only did places 1-8 so I could have made it all fit in one screen shot. past 8th place, no points are given.

side note #1. Damon Buus * did not attend race #6, I just put him there to make room for other columns.

side note #2. I only added up points from folks who currently qualify, meaning they have attended at least half of the races and are members. If I have made an error somewhere, please shoot me a PM, or just post in here.

If you would like a copy of the standings then I can email it.

here are the points rules:
Eligibility: Only THSCC members in good standing are eligible for year-end awards. You must run one more than half the points-scoring events, though they may be split across multiple classes. For competitors that ran in multiple classes, trophies will awarded for the class that the most points were scored in.

Events Counted: Total of 7 Points events. 2 are dropped.

Remember points are given in the following order:

1st = 10
2nd = 8
3rd = 6
4th = 5
5th = 4
6th = 3
7th = 2
8th = 1

Ok. here is an updated one. I took people out who did not qualify. It was done on the fly, so i may have left someone out.

We are dropping 2 of your races. I have not done any dropping so just subtract your lowest or two lowest races.

It's a tight race in all of the classes. Make sure you attend the last race. That can make all the difference! some folks need to come to the last race to qualify for points. so make it count.

good luck to all.

here are the files if anyone wants to download and play around with different scenarios.

when you click on week 9, there'll be a drop down menu, just scroll up to whichever place you want and that will automatically set the points.

if you want to drop the 2 lowest races, just click on the week and scroll to a blank spot and no points will be given.

I thought a percentage of the events were drop in the final tally???? I think it was something like your top 6 out of 8 events were counted.

Autox has always been best 6 of 8 and I'm pretty sure that rallyx has been that way to, though honestly this is the first year I've really paid attention.

I was thinking of Star Trek Voyager and good ol' 7of9. Great name for a trophy series...Best 7 of 9.

Rallyx has always been total of all points acquired (in each class), regardless of how many events you attended.

I think it would be nice to drop a couple of events, though. I think we did it the other way to encourage attendance.

I'd like to see that policy. If you miss one event, or your car breaks after your co driver drives, you are penalized.
How about doing what they do in autocrossing. Count your best 6 finishes out of 8.

well we've got 9 races.

so its either

7 of 9
or
8 of 9

yes, dropping a race or two would help those that had a bad day. hopefully not too much, but we'll see where it puts everyone.

and i think Jeremy is suppose to have 45 points.
i found another way to do the points. hopefully with no more math errors. haha. ill post up a revised one tonight or tomorrow after we discuss the # of races.

i wouldnt mind dropping at least one maybe two. I think that is only fair. I know i missed one event due to the motor not being in the car and as walter said about leaving when Les broke the laser/talon, even though he could have rode with David or myself .

Please remember that we are dropping at least 1, maybe 2 races. most of you guys have already missed a race, so your points wont change.

If you have not missed a race, just subtract your lowest score from your total and that is where you stand against everyone else.

If we decide to drop 2 races, then subtract your 2 lowest scores. You can also count race #9 as one of your races if you do not think you'll make it.

here was the original standings picture

I agree and thanks. Two of 9 sounds good to me.

Les didn't break the Laser. It just broke when he was driving it. We have neglected much needed maintenance on the car and are fixing that. It is actually good that we thought we needed a new water pump. The timing belt had a 1/4" cut in it. THAT could have been really bad.

I think it is really cool that the points are so close. That makes this more fun.
