Hey folks, the rallycross program is feeling good and we have been showing that the economy is not totally dampening our attendance. As many of you know the OCS venue rental fee has been a deterrent for the club since we really need to break even. A number of folks convinced us to consider adding $5 to the entry fee in order to cover an OCS event. The theory is that OCS may draw a few additional participants due to the hard packed clay surface and smoother terrain.
Today we committed to OCS for the June event. We are considering another event there, but we need to make sure that we do not commit the club unless we are reasonably sure that the registrations will cover our costs.
Please offer your comments to a $5 increase for an OCS event.

I voted and can only vote once. i know that my 2 co drivers would not have a problem pay $5 more to go to ocs

I voted for the first option too. Les will vote himself. Mike Jackson can't vote as he is not a member, but he will support this option.

Can Les, Mike and I co-chair this event?

I voted one, If we end up the event chairs, I'm gonna go ahead and apologize in advance to those who have rally-x cars without power, there may just be a bit of a "dragstrip". Though honestly, I can't really imagine anything much more than we already had at four oaks this year, just maybe a bit smoother.

Voted, and I will pay, even if I don't show up.

I might show up if there is a drag strip start. That would benefit me :O

Have fun, all!

My plan is for a drag race start up the hill next to the big tree toward the left hand sweeper in the morning. We can't drag race down that hill to the finish in the afternoon.

Does anybody have a radar gun so we can measure speeds at the end of the start? Could we set up a separate timer for the 1st 1/16th of a mile?

Does anybody want to bet on which car will be the fastest?

I might bring my Camaro and put snow tires mounted backwards on the rear for this competition. We all saw how that worked out for Sebastian.

I voted on this because I had so much fun at the school that I'd like to run at least one rallycross, especially on clay. I'd pay extra.

Oh, I forgot to add in my original post, but since this is only 10 miles from my house, iff I am not inundated with new baby, I would love to come out and help setup. That is REALLY tentative, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Have fun!

bring the baby. You gotta get them started early. My daughter was at her first dirt track when she was 3 months old!!!!!!

there is a outside small chance.. i may run my wrx at ocs, on bridgestone potenza mud and snow tires. bone stock subie.. the toyota is acting recalcitrant.. if we fix it we may run the toyota, if not.. i may run my subaru in so4. we will see, most likely one off at OCS. Since it does not rut there much. Also, if its muddy.. the awd will prove more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.
