Just wondering?
Would it be possible to find someone with a bulldozer to flatten, fill the holes and pack the worse parts?
I like the idea of a semi permanent course, but it seems the holes get deeper and deeper even when Kevin fills them up. No matter how hard he tries, a tractor and box blade isn't going to be enough.
I'd be willing to contribute $100.00 to the project. I know we are just breaking even, so the club might not be able to give us anything.
Who knows someone with a bulldozer and who might contribute?
All this is certainly contingent on it being OK with Kevin.
The much cheaper solution (if you don't count lost participation) is to ban beaters. Seriously. I could do laps for hours out there without making those ridges, because my car doesn't bounce around that bad, and I don't go full throttle through those spots. It's all the bouncing from cars being underdamped, completely undamped, whatever, that causes it. They're all bouncing in exactly the same spots, so part of the ground doesn't get touched, then the full 2000-3000 lbs gets shoved into the dirt on the landings. And usually the gas pedal is floored, so you have tires spinning in the air, then digging in on the landings. As long as we have beaters showing up at my house, we'll have moguls. I've actually seen cars bounce off the ground where there are barely perceptible bumps, too, so I've just accepted this as something that's going to happen each rallyx.
If I win the lottery, I'll of course buy the equipment to grade, pack and gravel the entire course, so that it's similar to driving on the STPR roads.
