Why did buy a WRX then?

WRX = much better car in every way that matters in daily driving, and I wanted to go down to one car for a while for financial reasons. Better seating position, better shifter, controls work better, not squeaky/rattley, lots more power and it's a wagon. And I paid 2.5RS money for it. Compared to a 2.5RS it's not as tossable, not as much fun on short dirt courses, but it's not a dog when the little boys in their redneck trucks I encounter between home and work decide I shouldn't be passing them while they're going 5mph under the limit. Oh, you want to race me? Okay, I'll just blow your doors off.

And if I do a track event this year, I won't be falling asleep when leaving the corners. :D

If you beat me, you have to pay me $100. If I beat you, the co-drive is free ;) ;)

Okay. I see some DNF's in my future. :D

I haven't heard otherwise, but is the race a go for Sunday?

Let's not let a little snow on Saturday keep us from racing Sunday.

The only thing that will stop an event this year will be the land owners. Charlie and I plan to run every event, rain or snow or hurricane!

32 participants so far. Hopefully we'll have a solid turnout. dont be afraid of the snow folks (but please drive safely) !

I spoke with Brett and he is still "GO" for the event. The soil is a little wet, but it drains well so we should be fine.
Bring a change of clothes/shoes in case you get muddy.

Guys please post here on Saturday whether those of us with one-wheel-drive tow rigs have anything to worry about getting in and out of the site please!

Don't worry Mike, if my one wheel drive tow vehicle can't make it in we may need to rethink the whole event.
Driving the bus to my place this evening I encountered a few stretches of white roadway. I'm concerned that we may not be able to get the bus into the field on Saturday for set up. I do not plan to attempt to drive the bus in if the field is snowy. It was bad enough in the muddy bottom at OCS, snow could require AAA.
I may call Brett Saturday morning to get the local conditions.

Thanks Charlie.

Looking for an opinion on one thing for those in the know on rally tires -- how stupid would it be to drive 30 miles to the event on old R700 rally tires? Think I would do much damage to the tires?

I'm considering ditching towing and just arrive and drive. But I don't want to take a lot of life off of the tires.

We've got over an inch in Chapel Hill-- it could be different at the BMW farm but I doubt it. &@(#&# it if this event is canceled after the HPDE was canceled last week.
