My neighbors Saturn loss the Body Control Unit, not the ECU. So He can get a replacement for about $100 bucks, but then the dealership wants another $300 bucks to program it to his odometer and Vin #.

Can this be done by a tech 2 device?

Does anyone have a unit that can do this that I can borrow for a day or two?

Thanks.

Just a guess, but there is not a lot of knowledge about Saturns on this board :)

I would think that ponying up and hitting the stealership might be the way to go. - AB

It is suppose to be the same as all modern GM's, so I thought a vette guy or such could answer.

OK, I gotta ask. What does a "Body Control Unit" do? I've never heard of that before.

They call them a Body Control Module, BCM, at Chevy...

I have been told you are stuck with the dealer Marty. But I was told that it should be about $100 charge, not $300. Check with any Chevy dealer instead of Saturn and see if you can get one to do it cheaper.

I was going to swap out the gauge cluster on my Silverado with one from an SS or Dinali to get the trans temp guage. Since they are wired from the factory for it. It's just a gauge cluster swap. But... you need the dealer to program the odometer and they give you some certified letter to go with it so you can prove the mileage is legit upon resale or trade.
