Thanks Brett. I have Lowes, Fastenal and Wilders all close to work and Northern Tools on the way home. I should hopefully find this today!

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

If you need an M7 bolt for something we have lots of various ones on hand. VW flywheel bolts are M7 as are many multipiece wheel bolts, we have both.

Thanks for the help everyone. It visited my local Lowes "Racing Supply" store and found the 10Mx1.0 Zirk. I tried it out this evening and was quickly able to move the stuck pistons.

A few misc. follow up items....

(1) Karl mentioned earlier an ITB 914 owned by Blake Meredith (aka bam914). He just posted a video of him in his 914 at Road Atlanta...

http://vimeo.com/5194728

Nice sound from a nearly 40 year old pushrod 4-cylinder VW engine! Granted, it's had some modern high tech work done to it. ;)

(2) I visited Wilders Nuts and Bolts a few weeks back to look for M7 or M9 cap head screws. They have nearly zero M7 or M9 hardware (no suprise). When splitting a caliper, I ended up trashing one of the special M9 bolt and nut. Luckily I was able to source a replacement from someone (from another caliper) as new parts are unavailable anywhere.

(3) Here are some photos of my split caliper and zirk fitting...
