I have a couple of tarmac tires with flat spots from emergency stops in rally. They're otherwise OK. Is it possible to shave them down to eliminate or minimize the flat spot? Any shavers in our area?

Simon

I don't think anyone will shave a tire after it's been run on the road.

I think Hall Tire in Greensboro will true the tires. I had a set done there after I had run on them at a couple events a few years ago.

i know there has to be somewhere that does it. The guys running big mud tires generally do it when one comes in a little off. jsut not sure where or who. i will ask around tomorow.

All big truck tire shops will do it. You just have to call around to make sure they can do something little.

I had track tires shaved at the truck tire dealer off Westgate near where
NcNier's shop is located. Sorry, can't remember the name of the place.
You can also find out where Mark Cooper is getting his Toyo's shaved.

I just had Mark do an alignment for me last Wednesday. He mentioned that he was going to need to get a machine and start offering that.
